There is a similar thread in both the 100 and 200 Classifieds Sections, makes sense here too. These trucks are changing hands at a rapid rate these days, having consolidated live market data is a nice thing for both buyers and sellers.

If you have recently bought or sold an 80 series and are comfortable sharing the details, post it here.

I haven't really seen any projects worth picking up for several years because I just couldn't get over the prices. With that said, I'm cheap and generally still have prices from 2 years ago stuck in my head.

Pre-craziness, I would see that selling for $4500-$7000.
Id be surprised if that’s where he market is now. Can barely even get an old Camry for $4500 these days.

Sure, but a Camry gets much better gas mileage and is cheaper to maintain, probably by an order of magnitude.

You established that the market wasn't at 9,500 by not moving it at that price. It was 10k+ just a couple months ago, right?

What interest are you getting at 8500 now? 7500 at the top of my posted range isn't that far off.

I give a broad range because I am going only off the photos and haven't seen or heard it in person - and I also didn't say that that was the market. I said that's what I would have expected to see it sell for pre-craziness. We are still in craziness I think.

I see your point but cheaper to run and maintain =/ more valuable. But yea I mean these are niche vehicles for sure. Not a lot of people looking for an old Land Cruiser. I just put it back in the market yesterday so we'll see.

I wonder if my wife would divorce me if I picked up a 2nd 80 for the Arkansas house. :cautious:
Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. How often are you in AR?

I spend 2 weeks in Seattle, 2 weeks in Bentonville. Ad infinitum.

Hope I don’t see this for sale for $10k anytime soon. I can thank Facebook for screwing this one up.

Only one way to find out 😂… as a reference though: My ‘94 is getting a new HG and a bunch of other stuff. The LX450 just started throwing lean bank one codes. She’s not exactly thrilled with me, currently. Your mileage may differ, and all that…

My wife bought my LT1 crate engine for my current truck. I'd like to keep her.

I’ve got Cummins and Isuzu diesel adapters floating around the basement, Cummins bell housing, NV4500, 80 series clutch parts, and tons of other random crap. I feel like she’s a good one too. 😂

I’ve got two 80s, 2 old BMW M3, and two VW rabbit (pickup and convertible) along with 3 dual sport motorcycles. Those are the newest and only cars I have. My other half doesn’t seem to mind. I’m feeling lucky as well.

You guys have wives?

Not the later model I would like, but the market is making that difficult. Thoughts?

I've been watching the for sale threads since January when I started the search for my LX. I gotta say, it seems that the replies and interest in postings has really slowed down the past two months.

Before good examples would receive 2-4 "interested" or "PM'ed" comments within the first few days of posting. Now, most of what I consider average or nice rides gets crickets and no responses.

I remember being scoffed at in this thread a few months ago when I suggested an increase in gas prices would suppress interest and reduce prices. I think that is exactly what has happened.

Not that I'm happy about that because that means people have less money overall.

Just thought I'd throw my opinion out.

People will say that Land Cruiser buyers don't care about gas prices but that only goes for the collectors paying top-dollar for cream-puff unicorns on BAT. The reality is that people are having to think longer and harder about extraneous purchases and off-road toys. At this point, these are basically hobby vehicles.

Even many people with high incomes are getting squeezed by inflation right now.

Could not imagine not owning an FJ80! Prices might be flat now, but they will continue to climb for well sorted rigs. Better 4x4 than any D110 or Ford Bronco and look at those prices today!

Unfortunately totaled this LS Swapped Beast a few months back (NOT MY fault):

And replaced it with this amazing 5.9 24V Cummins Bruiser last week (rear 4x4 Labs bumper and Steelies from old are being swapped on the new this weekend):

Find a nice rust free FJ80, buy it, drive it, wrench it and remember the smile it puts on your face every time you fire her up (especially if you hear that Cummins roar!)!
