Its wheel refinishing time, and before I drop $600 I need to decide whether to go original or some sort of graphite/gunmetal. If anyone out there has a moonglow colored rig with refinished rims, please post up a pic.

Thanks,

Luke

Here's mine, painted a silver close to factory. Before they were nasty chrome...

Dude, I did mine in graphite, in the drive way, with the tires on, for the cost of 1 can of primer and 2 cans of wheel paint..... They look mint.

600 bones on something thats gonna get scratched in a week you better be getting a months worth of reach arounds.

$600 is a lot for the service. Especially if thats only for 4 wheels. I went with 3 colors of powder coat on mine and it was only $95 per wheel. Still quit a bit of money for something thats going to get hammered in the rocks. But I splurged. My powder coater would have done a single color for $50 per wheel for reference. That includes blasting them first.

Thanks for the pics thus far, good point of reference.
Yes, $600 is rediculous, but that seems to be the going rate around here. I'm still sourcing other places though. If anyone in the tristate area knows of a place that'll do it for cheaper, I'm all ears.

Darwink1, did you do any sanding or prep work before spraying?

Not the best angle and theyre dirty

Try here. They're located in long island, about ~40 mins from NYC.

This is mine fresh from the powder coaters. 55.00 each and included them blasting and priming them as well.

I Powdercoated mine in black recently. ~$50 a rim (IIRC), included sandblast, prep, & PC. Its not terribly expensive.

I like the shade they used. Does it have a name, or a color code? (do they even use codes with powder coat materials?)

Edit: Same question for Trapper... they look great!

I scuffed them up pretty good before paint.

I ended up having them done 40th/CE style with gunmetal windows. Pretty happy with how they turned out.

I am six years into my Duplicolor graphite three can job with the tires on and they still look great. I do business with a powder coater and could probably get them done for free but I don't think they will be any better and not worth the hassle.
