I am there! BBQ and Cruisers? feels like heaven

well . . . i take back one statement that I made . . . i am now NOT there. My clutch slave needs some work before I can even drive my 60. More than likely, I will not be at the meeting. Have fun, you guys. I'll catch the next one

Great meeting everyone. Thanks for coming. I was good seeing everyone. BBQ was really good and it was a good place to have a meeting. For those who were not able to attend. We got a lot of things ironed out to make the club an even better Chapter.

Thank You.

One false statement

One thing was said that did'nt sit with me right on the ride home. What people get for being a member it was said friendship other than that expect nothing. Not true the greatest plus at being a member is gaining friends who know so much about cruisers. I have been in this club for around 8 years, have been vp, prez, etc; I know a thing or two about cruisers but compared to Hardin, Peters, Cox, Harrison, you get the idea I don't know squat. You find knowledge and helpful hands here in this club. People willing to help. That is worth the price of membership right there if you own a 20+ Japanese vehicle. But that's just me..

Later.

I hear ya Pal. What I meant was people sometimes get entitlement "issues".
I've always tried to dampen expectations of new members.
I've learned over the years that I'd rather under-sell and have people
thrilled at what they get vs over-sell and deal with disappointment.
Now what they GET is a whole 'nother matter. The friendship.
The events. The Ralph Hayes discounts. The annual meet door prizes.
The group's "favorable" part exchange rates. Vast knowledge base.
It's almost endless and priceless as to what you get for your $.
What you are entitled to expect/demand is another matter.
The benefits of UC are indeed overwhelming. I'd just rather not
promise the same. As an officer I know you have had to deal with members
who had unrealistic expectations. It sucks.
It's a great club. I tell 'em take a chance. If ya don't like it don't re-up.
If ya do, and I think they will ; Welcome aboard. You'll make lifetime friends,
memories for the ages and maybe learn a thing or two. I know I wouldn't trade my years of membership for anything.
Personally I don't want sour puss whining members with entitlement issues.
But, that's just me. I'm just a member and it's just my .02.
