How does the Monstaliner compare to AL's liner?

Thanks,

I am going to get some of the ACE hardware paint made for the mix of the off white. Can I make a paint panel up for you to match?

Really interested in getting Monstaliner in the right color. Shoot me a PM if we can get some traction on this.

Thanks,

just reached out to Eric, and he was very responsive to my emails.

He was very positive about getting the Cygnus White made and he does not want to do it half a$$, so I got him all the paint codes to make the best match possible.

Looking at 6 weeks to get this done.

Fingers crossed.

I posted over in 80 Series Tech already, but I thought it might help here.

I ordered 2 gallons of Desert Sand roll-on, but ended up only using 1 since I decided not to do the roof.

MaTm that looks really good and good to know that you used only 1gallon on your 80 (sans the hood). How thick of coats did you put on? And how "aggressive" is the texture? Can you post up some close up shots.

I put the layers on as thick as I could without globbing.

The texture is not aggressive and it looks like it will be easy to clean.

Here's a close-up. I hope it helps.

I just went thru all 17 pages of this thread and I don't think I saw a good answer to how the ML white matches the factory FJ80 white.

I am thinking of doing my rig and definitely need to start with the roof and I was wondering if it would match well enough to look decent if I only did the roof to start.

Thanks,

Matthew

Think that most of MM's stock colors are close but a few shades off. Best bet would e to get the tintable liner and then get the pigment (as noted in the first page) from your local auto paint store for the color you want.

The white we sell is a pure white so if your color is slightly off white it will not match. Best thing you can do is request a free chip from the ML site.

How does this white you have compare to Cygnus white?

MaTm- That looks great!

MaTm, very nice job congrats!

Thanks guys very much.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out. It was a simple and straight forward process.

Since the weather seems to be warming up here I am going to try and tackle my rusted sections soon. Will probably start with rattlecan primering the entire truck and then once late spring hits I will jump on this. Now just to decide on the color. Have alway wanted the Sand Beige (Toyota 464 Beige) but my truck in the 8B4 Midnight Metallic Blue, so now I am debating on a stock ML color or going with the auto store pigment route and tintable liner.

I have a tintable kit with plans to paint my 40 freeborn red. My plan was to line the inside tub with Monstaliner matching outside paint. I am now in a stall and my paint plans constantly changing but want to get the lining done. Has anyone used one of the Monstaliner stock colors that is a near match to freeborn red?

Quick question, I am looking to paint the inside of my lower tailgate (help protect against dog nails) and figured this would be a good test of the ML. Think that the Repair kit should be enough to cover what I need but was wondering if it only comes in black or in colored too? Assuming colors as well since you have it as a repair kit. Probably will submit order for it next weekend.

Just gotta throw a word out there. I have the inside of the 40 monstalined, and have had it there for the past 6 years. Still no problems. Went from the heat of Vegas for 2 years, and has been in Fairbanks AK for 4 years without issue. Still satisfied. :-)
