It's back, I've been successful purchasing from Walmart the last 2-3 years and getting the rebate, which makes it almost buy one get one free on the 5qt jugs.

Walmart is not on the participating retailers. would it work anyway?

I call 'For questions about this mail-in rebate, please visit mobil.us/rebate, or call 1-866-895-9127' and Walmart is an approved vendor for the rebate as long as the purchase is oil only. Not valid if used to preform an oil change by Walmarts service department.

  • Purchase the eligible products at a participating retailer (listed below) between March 1, 2017, and May 31, 2017.

I've used Walmart receipts 6 times or so over the last 3+ years. It's always worked, regardless of what the participating retailers states. I'll continue to do this until I get denied.

2 rebates per household.

I've used Mobil 1 Extended Performance for every single oil change as well as their matching filter. I go almost 20,000 miles between changes. Oil has always been honey and never leaked a drop and doesn't burn any. I don't add a single drop of oil to the truck in between oil changes. I have 250,000 miles on my truck. That's a testament to a good synthetic oil.

I do Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic High Mileage and change it every 5K miles.
Am I wasting my money?

I want to say that you can extend your oil change. Having said that, how long usually it take you to reach 5K? Some people drives very little. I bought an SC430 last year, and I probably will drive 2-3K a year. I have not decided how often I will change the oil in that car. Once a year is probably overkill, but I am not sure I want to leave it for 2 years. I probably will end up doing it once a year. The cost and time needed is not much, and I enjoyed tinkering in my garage.

Walmart is advertising this oil at 25 dollars for a 5qt jug. and then mobil is offering a 10 dollar rebate? So Im buying 5qts of oil for 15 dollars?!?

No. Walmart has it for 25$ for 5qts. Mobil gives you 12$ back per jug. Its damn near buy one get one
