You are aware Moab is in the US, not Denmark? :moon:

:) I'll be ready for a trip when I come back! I think you, Al, and David are the only ones who know I'll be in DK for 6 months...

I have loose plans with @96Cruiser13 to tow out west to hit Moab and Rubithon next summer. Very loose plans, but the plan is in action. I've got a front locker in the garage for Moonshine, tools to build armor and a tow rig currently being built to drive around the world if need be. Still need to buy a trailer.

I've planted the seed with Laura and she's down. The Ferd will be ready to tow two, maybe (possibly) three, trucks across country. I'm planning on limiting my PTO this year to have enough saved to take at least two, if not four weeks of vacation.

I've been telling @Cruiserdrew for years that I'm going to get out there and 2018 is the year.

Don't worry it will probably be over a weekend NCSTATE has a home game...but at least you have a rig that is road/trail worthy.

If my rig is ready by then then I'm game. My brother lives in South Lake Tahoe so I would spend time there before coming back.

Well, after the axle upgrade that I finished up at about 1am last night, I'm ready for a trip!

Those who know, something happened at a Hurricane Creek trip, and haven't been able to tear into the daily driver with school and everything. Thought it was the ring and pinion, but turned out to be the shortside birf. Both hubs had some play, and caused the shafts to fall out, and the splines were pretty worn, and the cages had signs of binding/pitting. More pics to come later! So, new axles are in and ready for some action!

But yes, I've recently accepted a new position in our API production facility that is under construction and should be up and running in 2020. I'm handling the qualification and acceptance testing for all raw materials for the fermentation and purification processes. I'll be spending 6 months in Denmark learning their process, and will be in DK from August to approximately early November, home, and then return to DK from January to early March.

I have 6 weeks of vacation a year, and was thinking of using a lot of it for a trip like this!

Whoa dude! That's a ton of time traveling. Congrats on the new position!

Tell us about the axle upgrade!

I'm still down for these loose plans. My vacation starts over in April and I get an extra 40 hrs next year, so I'm pretty excited...

I'm game. Let's do it.

Going to love being on non/deployable status for the fist time in 17 ears.

Obviously the sooner we can lay out dates the better.

The 82 pick up is being built specifically for a Moab/rubicon trip I was planning on taking. But now that there is a possibility to do it with others then even better.

Also, just let me know if anything is needed from me.

Depending on my school schedule and how GSMTR goes this year I might be very interested in a trailer spot...

Could probably fit three land cruisers on this in a 53' config:

Don't want to offend the Ferd, but... would it be able to tow three BUILT wagons?

Three built wagons, let's say 6500# each (generous) that's 19.5k. GCWR of my truck is 26,000 unless it has the high capacity tow package, which I need to check on. Looks like I'd be above the GCWR with three land cruisers weighing that much, even though the gooseneck hitch will have a rating of 26k# by itself. I've got ~18k worth of loaded trailer I can tow and be under the truck's rating.

Need to read more, but looks like I could only do two wagons!
