Anybody got a good name for this event?

Also if we could pull off a design by dec 15th I could have them printed in a week.

This would have a front small logo (maybe a UC logo) and a back design.

I've found a good source for color shirts

So post up if you have an idea and we will vote in the coming weeks.

I've got a cool photochop I did a while back but don't have any idea on how to incoroporate it.

How bout across the top Upstate Cruisers Tellico Throwdown and then the dates across the bottom January 12-14 2007

My other thought is Tellico Tested UC Approved across the top and then MLK 2007 on the bottom

I like the art and slogans but here's another offering:

"CRUISER MLKing 2006" Equal Opportunity Abuse

I got one...

"Got MLK"

With a muddy pic of the front of a cruiser.

I need more coffee

Another vote for Steen's idea and support for our troops as well!

Not that I'm opposed to honoring our troops but what does that have to do with MLK weekend? and how are we supposed to tie it into the shirt other then some stereotype flag on the cruiser or something like that.

We could tie it in by adding an MLK quote that has some relevance to the struggle our troops are going through...

Here's a couple possibilities but I'm sure there are better ones.

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter"

Support our troops!

I LOVE the "Got MLK" thing.

One of my favorite MLK quotes EVAR!!!!:

"I submit to you that if a man hasn't discovered something he will die for, he isn't fit to live."

Fitting to the troops, fitting to some of the trails up there too :)

How about: "I've been to the mountain top. I've seen the promise land."
Upstate Cruisers
MLK 07

I actually like this better. I'm all for supporting the troops. But MLK and troop support doesn't really fit.

Now if we did a D-day run or vetrans day run or a memorial day run then I could see how all this would fit together.

Lets keep it focused to MLK in some form.

It also need to have our sponsor Ralph Hayes Toyota on it somewhere. Front or back.

Alex do you have the artwork for them?

I thought the mountain top reference was spot on.
Upper Telico IS the promise land of wheeling. :grinpimp:
Of course I'm prejudiced (no, not THAT way)...'cause it's my idea. :smokin:
Say a pic of a 40 on a mountain top with the quote above it in quotation marks.
Maybe a sign at the hill top with #11 or helicopter pad on the sign?
Ralph Hayes logo on the front with "Official UC Sponsor"
under their logo? Pocket Ts? Long sleeve. Brrrrrr...it is a Jan event. ;)

If we put everything you just named on a shirt David it would be such a cluster fu** we wouldnt know what was going on. We need to keep it fairly simple.

actual quote

here is the actual quote of the passage I referred to:

“Well, I don’t know what will happen now. We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn’t matter with me now, because I’ve been to the mountaintop and I don’t mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will, and He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over and I’ve seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight, that we as a people will get to the Promised Land. And I’m happy tonight; I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.”

So I guess I'd suggest not using qoutation marks.

It would read : I've been to the mountaintop. I've seen the Promised Land.
I just wanted to be accurate if it's used.

easy there big fella

Huh...A statement over a pic of a truck with a sign is a cluster fu**, as
you put it? I think conveys a lot of info simply. Any Tellico devotee
would understand the significance of the trail sign.
A pic on a pocket of a T likewise is simple.
I'm not saying do what I suggested, but calling it a cluster fu**
is just not credible. If you don't like it OK by me, but a( as you so coarsely put it)
cluster fu** it ain't.
All I'm saying is MLK is the reason we have this day off. I think it's
fitting to honor the man who made my vacation possible.

David I'm not hating on your idea but reread your first post you said
1. a cruiser on a mountaintop
2. mlk quote
3. a sign on the hill with stuff written on it
4. ralph hayes logo
5. phrase: official uc sponsor

sounds like a lot of stuff, especially when you consider that we are working with an area of maybe 12-14" square maybe a little more
