Been up to a lot lately actually… I went and picked up my truck at Steve’s the Wednesday before the 4th of july. I was able the get some work done down there on things since I had some advise and help. Millhouse totally re did my power steering while it was there, guess he got bored one night, we took off bill’s bracket and used different one I bought from steve, pretty sure it is marks off road bracket, makes the pump mount lower and is an all around better design.
Got a new intake/exhaust gasket installed, works good. Carb was completely full of $hit, dirt, hair, and just garbage…. There are two filters on there before the pump, nothing after the pump. We changed all filters (see pics and see carb screen pics) don’t understand how a brand new fuel tank can be so dirty on the inside, I remember taking off the factory seals myself and as I hooked up the lines. Anyhow the new filter after the tank is already getting some garbage in it again, so I will change it again soon, hope to stop all the stuff, or I will have to drain it out and start pouring gas through it to clean it.
Got a new switch for the blinkers from Cdan…. Works wonderful now… so at least I know it is in the switch somehow.
We also put in a dizzy and igniter from a fj60 that I got from Steve, re timed it all and get it running really really well… got about 400 miles on it so far total and the last 200 since we finished working on it and now it is finally running how it was suppose to.
Steve, Millhouse, and Lemon were up over the 4th weekend and we got to hang out some, Steve and Shannon came to the lake with me on Friday and Saturday, so it was fun to have a few other land cruisers in town…
dont judge me on my dirty engine... when I took these pics I still hadnt cleaned dust off from redwing... you can bet is is cleaned up and detailed now.
