Dude: What a great thread. Thank you for sharing your life story over the past two years. I just stumbled onto this one last night at 1:00 AM when I should have been sleeping. Couldn't stop reading till I had gone through all 32 pages. Awesome work. Congrats on your accomplishment. Thread subscribed for future developments. Thanks again for sharing.

Well the truck made it the 3 miles to the exhaust shop…. 55 mph on the highway… a bit scary… it had snowed last night and was rain and sleet today so the roads were slipper as hell… I did find out my rear brakes are locking up way to quickly… got to turn that proportioning value a little and get that all figured out… slid past the driveway to the exhaust shop at about 45 mph.. It was scary as hell… but got it straightened out and had to go a ways and turn around…

It was real cool once I got there…. About 5 old guys that just show up the shop to have coffee every morning staring at the truck as I drove it on to their lift!!!! Haha… non of them called it a jeep however… haha… “never seen a Toyota like that one!” “boy you got some hours in that son!” haha.. made me feel about 10 feet tall!!

Going to pic it up this afternoon… getting both the exhaust and an alignment.

here is a driving video

haha... maybe that is what people were looking at... not the fact that I was driving with no top in the snow and rain... :D

well friday went great! new exhaust sounds great. i think i have a slight header gasket leak. not too bad however. one of those things i am not looking forward to adressing. i took off air cleaner to torque all bolts seems better but not perfect. oh and yea my alt is not charging either. spent some time today messing with that and as of right now i still have had no luck getting that going. cant be too much as i had it working at one point. but all in all things turned out well. put on a total of 8 miles. got the truck to over 60 mph on way home. went down the road straight and drove about how i expected it would.

New estimate raises ND flood higher than sandbags

Spend some times helping out the people in Fargo ND yesterday… about 17 of us from work all piled in our resort vans and headed to help the thousands of volunteers that worked around the clock to try to save the city from the Red river. We spend most of the day filling sand bags… then help carry them to the dikes…

The Red river is suppose to crest tomorrow at 43’….. We were building dikes to withstand 43’ in the residential area I was working in. However they did not know if it would hold at 43’ they were really hoping for 42 or less…. So we ended up going back and fixing ones we did earlier in the day to make them stronger. The engineer I talked to there said if it gets to 43’ this neighborhood would be lost for sure… not exactly sure how many homes were in this neighborhood… but lots and lots of really nice homes.

I have never been a part of anything like this before… I have never seen hundreds and hundreds of people, none of which have ever met each other working together for a common goal!! The pictures do not do the effort of these people justice!!! Glad I was able to be there to see it in person.

Although my back kills and I can not feel my arms today, I am so glad I was able to help out even if it was for only one day….. please keep these people in your prayers for this weekend… truly you will find no better people anywhere….

Man-o-man... Back breaking labor, in a cold wet environment... but for a great cause. You know those folks appreciate it with all their hearts. Good karma indeed.

Oh and the truck looks and sounds great!

got my remflex man. gasket this afternoon.. hope to have pics for you all on monday.. seems this weekend is all filled up already but going to try to sneek enough time in to get that in.

Got the gasket in… not without lots of problems… when I was putting in the intake man. It cracked on me… real %ucking cool… ever try to find a welder in northern MN on a Saturday afternoon that can heliarc weld an alum. Manifold. Well called everywhere and found a guy… got it done and got the s*** all back together… had trouble with the carb and getting it running well again. I think the float valve stuck on me… any how got it all cleared up and running again… I sure doesn’t sound right still… I mean it sounds way better… but it still seems to have an exhaust leak of some point… oh well I am going to drive it now.. if I do change it again, I am going to buy new headers as I am not a huge fan of this one anyway and I am not so sure it is not the welds on the header that are leaking itself. Still waiting for warmer and dryer weather to get this thing out more… hoping by next week… Water pump took a s*** on my already. Leaking out the front of it. So I have a new one on the way, will be here today or Monday. So I will have to take out the radiator yet again to get that in…. really excited about that…

Edit... i ended up getting a new intake

Have a good Easter!!!
