Doors took a while to get right... (or good enought) the lines I think are different than the stock tub... seems to be a bigger gap in the back.. not sure why they made it that way but it seems like that is how both doors fit... I had to loosen up the hinges from the inside and we had to pound them up.. think they moved maybe a 1/4 inch or so... would like to get the drivers side still up 1/8 to 1/16 or so.. but it is really close...

door latches... those holes are not pre drilled as all the body ones... which was nice, you can put them where they need to be...

ok... I also need someone to post a pic up of there Tuffy Counsil... I want a 8" on with a radio slot... not sure if it will fit in there... are those seats factory... I think they are... the covers are not... but the old covers are under these... did they origanally have headrests

Please help!!!!!!!!!!

You are not missing a bracket. This is another feature of the aluminum tub; the original steel tub had a raised section where that seat bracket attached and the aluminum tub is flat in that spot. It does not have the correct floor by the tunnel so that the seat frame support can attach to it. You will need to make a spacer to take up the difference.

Looks good bud!

Floor and seat support that is in 09/72-12/78 40 series:

AAron, who's sliders are those and do they tie to the frame or just bolt to the rockers?
Lookin' Good!

Ed

they are 4+plus got them from Man-a-fre......... They do not tie to the frame... well at least not without some sort of braces like you have on your roll cage, or somthing similar to that...

Here are a couple pics of the extension for the seat bracket. Is really hokey, I will be extending the original bracket. I love how the tub turned out is such a nice product but why skimp on the seat bracket. I understand what you went through with the sealent. Had it on my hands and everything else for weeks. Good luck man and nice build, Dan. seat bracket.jpg

Just wanted to make clear that the extension I showed is what is sent out from cruiser solutions with the aluminum tub. Dan.

The worst part of the whole deal what the SikaFlex (glue) it is basically like tar and does not dry fast… the tube they send me the back half was dry so I could not use the gun to get it out… ended up cutting it open and using my fingers (with gloves of course) but as soon as we set the tub on there it squirted out so it was everywhere… and when you drilled a hole of course it got on the bits and the bolts… still got it all over my hands and can not get it off…

Lacquer thinner.....

Try it. It works great for so many things ;)

it does.... and it does clean it up.... but you would have been cleaning your hands every 30 seconds... :)

I finally got the dies for the double flare tool (I broke MILLHOUSE's) so I had to order from SnapOn... well it took like 2 weeks to get here... so my break lines have been waiting... I had to make 8 double flares and they all went perfectly!!!! I was pretty pumped... so break lines are done... I do have to get some new soft lines for the front... the old ones are on there and one of them is leaking all over my floor....

I ordered a bunch of stuff from CDan yesterday also... $$$ now I dont have any left... I did get alot of stuff though... new gas tank was the big item... my old one was rusty on the inside and since I am getting Jim C to fix up that carb I dont want it wrecked from an old gas tank and all the junk floating around in there... so better do it now than later.. Also got some emblems, all the rest of the lights (front rear marker, front blinker) and some door seals, and the seal for the windshield glass as it needs to be replaced.. only the passenger side "smoker glass" is available... so I looked through SOR last night see they got the drivers side aftermarket... so my build "without SOR" I dont think will happen... I really need those seals and seems they are the only place that has them..

Fedex lost my other shipment of SEM so the company had to send out a new one... I hope I can get it before this weekend...as that is what I am planning on spending my weekend doing...

Did you make your own custom hard brake lines? <if so, very interested>

Or is the double flare tool you mentioned above to make the end fitting the right shape for the B-nut?

Curious,
Chris

i made all the hard lines for the rear.. between myself, poser and Millhouse we made the lines for the front... the double flare tool is used to make the line ends, you still have to buy the correct fittings... if you have old lines on your truck you will probably be able to use them and just make new lines... it takes some practice to make the lines.. but if I can do it anyone can...

got some done this weekend... I took friday off work and bought a new compressor... it is nice to have somthing bigger... I started doing body work so the DA takes up quite a bit of air... I started really grinding down on the alum tub itself with 80 grit to get down the weld lines, then down to a 150 grit to finish them off... also there are two dents on the cowl where it curves around the windshield... so been putting fuller in there.. The tub is not too bad... I mean it will be alot of work for me... but anyone that knows what they are doing it would not be............. going to try to get at least to the point where I can shoot all the primer this week... got to scuff all the inside of that tub, hit everything with 220 or smaller and clean the whole shop, then tape everthing off... we will see, seems like a lot of work to do... more pics when there is fun stuff to look at..
