Had to catch up on this thread again ;) You've made a lot of progress...

You must be totally broke now! New compressor, new gas tank, new tub! Looking really good though. Gonna post details of the aluminum paint prep?

yea as I go along... main thing is to get an etching primer that is made for alum. or that is ok to use... The stuff I got is not made for it but it is ok to use... , after that spray your sandable primer over... do all ur body work... then shoot color...

that is all I know... we will see if it works... :)

had to cut up my fender flare because I did not want them up so high and I did not want to cut the wheel wells out.... think they turned out pretty well..

Ted came up last night... now those of you that do know Ted will be surprised to learn Ted actually knows a bit about body work... dont know if he has ever really applyed his skills to anything but yapping and drinking :flipoff2: but he gave me a few pointers and we went over the car and felt it up like a cheap hooker... or what Ted calls "friday nights" :flipoff2:

anyway I made a few marks of places that will need attention before primer.. no way in hell will this thing see primer this weekend... probably not even next weekend... I dont want to get in a hurry here and since I "bring the suck" on body work it takes me a while to do it correctly...

couple pics of the trouble areas

As a matter of fact I spoke to MILLHOUSE when I was at the bar on sat and asked him about his kit and he said dont worry about it because he has yours... haha... but yes I think I am done with it...

you are correct about this weekend... I got a whole lot of nothing done!!!!!!!!!!!!! about 6 min of sanding then I decided I did not want to do that anymore.

Started drinking on friday night and woke up with a new coffee table this morning... :grinpimp:

I knew after I made some smart ass comment on your site you were going to come look here and see I have been doing nothing lately... :flipoff2:

well here is what I know... I got a large amount of parts in from C Dan and cool cruisers. including all new lights, all the emblems, new flex brake hoses for front. all the seals for the doors and glass around doors, new windshield gasket, fuel sender and gasket, and a brand new OEM gas tank... hehe... I was real excited yesterday when it all came... ohh there is more stuff too... just can not remember it all...

I still have lots of body work to do... I think I need to get an air file because I am really sick of sanding and I really suck at it, my DA works ok but think I will be able to get it closer with a file and since I have the new compressor it should not be a problem to run.... I tend to take way way too much filler off and end up putting more on and then taking it off again... anyhow this is all I have been doing... so no time limit for paint...

I am leaving for Florida in the morning and will be gone almost a week  pretty excited to get out of this snow s*** for a while. (we got over a foot on Sunday!!!) I never remember a winter as long as this... ever!!! anyway.. Once summer is here I really want to not concentrate on this truck much... I spend all my summer in the boat and at the lake with my family and friends (plus there are girls there.. in swim suits.. have you heard!!!)... and winter will be here again and there will be plenty of time to get to this truck again... Plus I am out of $$ and would not be able to finish this truck this summer even if I had wanted to devote all my time here.. :bang: but I got lots of work to do with the parts and supplies I do currently have...

soooooo Jason to answer your question... if it is green by fall I will say I have done well... :D well maybe before then... hehe... now get back to work on your LV... they are way cooler than some old 40 any way!!

Talk to you fxxxers when I get back from the beach!!! :grinpimp: Godspeed!!

well spent a little more time on my breaks on friday night. put my new soft lines on the front I got from Cdan... the drivers side still leaks bad.... where the soft line hooks to the back of the dust cover on the breaks.... I have a copper washer on there and have tried two of them and it still leaks... anyone know if those things can go bad????? Can you buy those or do you have to buy the whole dust cover??? seems it is rivited on there?

Can't imagine the piece going bad. The only thing I can think of would be to ensure the mating surface where the copper washer fits is flat and square and nothing is down inside preventing the flare from seating.

Besides that everything else is looking great!

I have been following along but have found these two pics to be the best. :princess: agrees :D

:D:D:D glad you like the pics... here is one more just for you.. this is Sawyers brother colt in the drivers seat. He belongs to my good friend... we each got our dogs on the same day...

:D

yea.... I thought about that too... I did paint that thing but was carful not to get any paint in there.... I will have to pull it off and check it out...

Have been really busy helping my dad and my friends lately. my dad is re siding, re roofing, and putting new decks on his house this summer so been trying to help him. Millhouse is building a huge pole barn so been over there most of the last few weekends helping him on that.. so between those two main things and a few smaller projects seems I have been being pulled away from the shop alot lately... but that is ok... hope to have more pics and more LC stuff soon...

Well it rained all day on Saturday so we could not work on the pole barn so MILLHOUSE and I started working on my brakes… I really thought I was done with these and all we would have to do is bleed them out and they would be ready to go… but as everything else on this project I was wayyyyyyyyyyy off…………

We took the outer knuckle off the driver side front so we could get that dust cover off to take a better look at that “L” connector on there… got that all off and realized I did not grease my wheel bearing seals very well… so figured out I probably did that on the other side too… so we ended up taking that all apart also… and yes it was the same way there… glad we got that taken care of… saved my new seals on there…

Anyway we could not find anything wrong with that “L” so we put it all back together… we did figure out that the soft lines I have been using are wrong… I do have a single correct line that I got from Poser when I got all this break stuff… I must have lost the other one as I have tore through all my parts at least twice looking for it.. but Steve is getting me another one… anyhow we put it all back together and it still leaks… so…. Well there has to be something wrong with that “L” even though it looks good… Steve is also looking for another one of those for me… but I get to take that all apart again.. super fun!!! Just one pic of the different line ends………

Then well we decided that we could at least get the back brakes done…. Well MILLHOUSE took one look at them and said “dumbass these are on upside down...” haha… so back out come the wrenches…. So the only good thing about this is that I had to have a ¼” spacer to make the wheels fit before but it you turn them the correct way we were able to make them fit without the spacer in there… yea we had to grind it a little but it fit with not much work… had to remake the hard line on the rear axle housing but that was no big deal….

This is about all we got done… the Jack was kicking pretty good about here… so we quit working and just talked the rest of the evening… all in all a great time… hopeing to get parts this next weekend from Steve…..

Here is my list Steve… as I know Miller will not remember the last half of the evening… and yes I wrote it down for him but sure he lost it by now… :D

Dust shield
Soft Line
Belts for power steering… (small)
Flasher
