WORKING ON THAT. BEST # FROM MAINE TO NJ ( 560 MILES ) $700.00. BUT STILL SHOPPING. I MAY JUST RENT A UHAUL AND GO GET IT, WIFE SAID IF I GO THE MY 3YR OLD GOES WITH ME. THAT WOULD BE A LONG TRIP.:)

yea that sucks but if you figure gas alone will cost you $200 and Uhaul what does that cost? plus your time? plus a 3 yr old... man seems too much.... the last one would be too much for me.. :D

WHAT REALLY SUCKS IS THE FACT THAT I CANNOT GET MY ENGINE OUT AND INTO ITS NEW HOME DUE TO THE WEATHER. I FEEL LIKE I AM LEAPFROGGING ALL OVER THIS PROJECT. I HAD A GAME PLAN AND THAT IS SHOT, BUT I WAS WARNED  . NOW I HAVE A TUB AND NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING READY TO PUT IT ON. DAMN THIS IS FUN:) :) :) .

On Saturday got my a$$ out of bed early and started working on the brake lines... I got them at NAPA and they are the pre made kind... super easy to bend... I think I did all the bending without even using my bender... only got a small amount done before I had to head to my grandpa's place for breakfast...

After breakfast my dad and I had plans to redo my plumbing so it will not freeze again.. so we went to Home Depot and got the stuff, headed back up to my place... I had to help him for a while, but most of the stuff he just needed to work on and figure out so he did not need my help... So I was doing misc. chores around the house (cleaning chimney, cleaning out fire place.. yada yada) because I did not want to leave my dad that long incase he needed me to do something... so I would go down the basement about every 20 min or so to check-in… Finally he said “you might as well go work on that Toyota, because I don’t need your help here..” so I think he knew my head was really in the shop and not down there any way… so it was really cool of him to help me while I was (and I think I should have been in the basement plumbing) in the shop working on the cruiser…

So anyway I got all the brake lines run by the end of the night…. That was with my dad coming in and shooting the $hit after he was done plumbing for the day and also us going out for lunch… so I have to say the amount of work I got done for the amount of time I spent I felt was a lot.

Here are pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now brings me to Sunday… pretty much worked all day… got up early again and started getting things together for the day… Then I got hungry so ended up going to my girlfriends place and made her breakfast… then headed back to the shop to get some work done… I know my engine will be ready when I get back from Mexico so my main focus it so get things ready so that can go in as soon as I get it back because if you see my shop is not big enough to just have it sitting around.

The first thing I did was dig my bell housing out of the snow bank… when I took this thing off it was all full of old oil and grease… I really was not looking forward to cleaning it at all… So I threw it in the back of the Tundra and headed to the car wash… got as much as I could off there. It was probably the nicest day we have had in MN for about 2-3 weeks it was about 15-20 degrees out!!! (what a heat wave :D ) this was good because I set up some saw horses and got the engine de-greaser out… let that sit for a while and then used hot water and a old scrubbing pad and cleaned away… what a MESS!!! But it came out good….

I ended up putting a few coats of black paint on all the parts for the bell housing and they are ready to go. I was very happy with how it came out... looks brand new!!

Here are the pics!

sh1t man this thing is comin along FAST!

I have tons of questions about the brake lines for ya. Im not sure how different our year models are, but when I try to follow the origional schematic then I get really confused and waste time trying to figure it out...I am at the point where I just want to run the lines like a hot rod (just basically run them however they need to be run to work)

Did you run them according to origonal specs?

You said the lines you got you bent mostly by hand...I got a big 25' roll from jegs..you think its the same stuff?

I dont understand where the two lines coming out of the booster need to run! Mine is slightly different but the same idea. Do they both run down to the frame and then part out to the front and rear axel after going to the porportioning valve?

Keep it up. THis thing is gonna be a beast when its done.

well I did not get much done last night... spend about a hour and a half in the shop... put the bell housing all back to gether even though I will have to take it apart again at least I will not loose parts or bolts
