What kind of play? Steering wheel twitches over certain bumps?
There’s a click/looseness in the steering wheel that is felt when adding slight pressure to the wheel when turning, regardless of speed/surface. There is also more significant looseness in the entire steering column over rough washboard or cobbled roads.

Ok. Yeah mine twitches the steering wheel over sharper bumps. I have the shop installing a new rack due to leakage and upper and lower control arms while they are doing the engine swap. Hopefully that fixes my steering twitch.

235k on my 2010 lx570. Currently in shop getting an engine transplant with a 45k mile donor engine. My head gasket went south on cylinder 4. For me it made more sense to swap in a lower mile engine. Up till this it has been excellent to me. Hopefully I'll be able to do another 200k . My 2000 100 series has 330k when I sold it so hoping I'm able to do the same here. Here's some pics of the current situation

I got it 5 years ago with 124k on it. I live in NJ and specifically looked for one in a non rust belt state. This truck lived it's life in Texas until I bought it and was rust free when I got it. Still looks very good underneath as I look after it constantly. Mechanic didn't say why the head gasket went.
 
Further to your engine swap thread and carbon build up in your block, from what I can tell your truck went through an overheating event as a result of a crack in the radiator (known issue) which warped the light alloy block and head and resulted in a head gasket failure. I am not surprised you are back to that issue at this point. Sad Toyota did not recall these radiators.
 
52,000 on my 2021. No issues, just on my third set of tires and second set of brakes. Where I live, you are lucky to get 25,000 miles out of a set of tires. Brakes aren't much better, but I will say that the LC is better on brakes than either my 4Runner or Tundra were.
 
31,000 on a single owner 2021. White. No issues since new. Wondering when my first brake job will be needed.
 
Depends on the pads. You drive hard in to the corners? :)
 
I use to chide my youngsters, "Someday you are going to be paying for those tires & brakes".
 
2010 with 47k miles. Zero issues.

2016 - 110k - I replaced the Radiator proactively; there have been many pricey mods, but otherwise, bulletproof.
 
Starter crapped out, pretty much no warning (thankfully at home) and left the truck immobile around 155k. No serious issues other than that.
 
2008 with 130000 miles. Bought it with 69000 miles on it. No issues other then sticking transfer case actuator. I just replaced the starter "preventative maintenance" and I did the plugs at 125k miles. I also changed the serpentine belt and the tensioner and idlers awhile back. I change the oil every 5k, the diffs every 35k. I serviced the transmission at 75k and am going to do it again. Keeping an eye on the radiator and when it starts to leak, I will replace the water pump and hoses at the same time.
 
Did you DIY the starters? With the exhaust manifold in place or removed?
I did DIY the starter. I removed the manifold. It took me about 9.5 hours total, including 3 hours messing around with one exhaust manifold nut (of course, the last nut is always the one that is stubborn). I had previously purchased all the parts to pull the manifold, including all the studs, nuts, etc. I really can't see how to get the starter out without doing it, unless you are willing inflict a lot of mechanical carnage on stuff manhandling it in and out. Since it's a once in a life time event, I can't see not doing it correctly.
