you can still order most any of the fisch.....cant get the books though :(

Better check that. As of 2 months ago Toyota sent word to dealers to blow it all out. So if your planning on buying them better get your hands on them now. My understanding is once they are gone they are gone.

So how does one go about buying old land cruiser parts fiche? Not from the parts guys. He would tell you we don't have anything listed for pre 3/69. Then the young person behind the counter would ask. "Where you got a land cruiser that old. Toyota didn't even make the land cruiser before that". That hasn't happened yet but close:bang:

Call CDan. I'm gonna bet if anyone can find them it's him.

So when were the books printed? Were they printed the same time as the fiche?

Anybody going to cut what they have apart and scan them? Or is this gonna be one of those "I have it but ain't spending the time sharing it" moments?

If I did have any, they would already be online somewhere for anyone to use...unfortunately, I don't :frown:

... if Toyota blows all these fiches out,
they blow all the old parts out too :hhmm:
not a good news I think.

Cheers
Peter

I've had fiche on order for my 65 FJ45 for months from Cabe. They have the part #'s and it says they're still available but on back order. They called Toyota again today after I stopped by and confirmed they are available and on back-order. Sounds like they wait until they have enough orders before they make another batch.

UPDATE: NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

I'd say check with CDan, Cabe, or another cruiser friendly dealer.

Marshall-

I found a place here in San Diego that will scan the ones I have as a PDF that I believe will be indexed and scanned with OCR to allow searching.

It's not cheap, and the more you do the less it is per image. They are used to doing huge corporate jobs but with the economy the way it is I think they're being a little more flexible.

I'm going to look at these on a fiche machine, determine which is the best one to use as a test and have them make one to be sure it's what I'm looking for.

EDIT: Probably going to use NOVEMBER 1967 FJ40V, 40LV, 45V, 45LV (1 of 2 and 2 of 2)

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Dom, did you talk directly to Mike Bingham? I've thought about ordering some myself but aren't really interested in the fiche.
