I noticed this page is a little out of date:
High Desert Cruisers: Members Rigs

Maybe we should effect a concerted effort at updating it (?)

That is, after all, our window to the world. The MUD site is a little esoteric for most - they're going to look the hdcruisers website over good before following the MUD link...

I think Bushrat hooked up a headlight relay since this 5 year old picture. Anything else Jon? :D

I'm in for some photos of my rig(s), the running one and the one in pieces... It would be cool to have progress pix as the projects move along.

Nope. Looks about right.

Email text and pics to me: ratstew at comcast dot net. I'll get them up as soon as I can.

I was looking at the site and it appears I might want to delete a few folks that are no longer active. What ya'all think?

I'd say if we haven't heard from them in a year or so...

Maybe a link to a site of choice (if paid up) would be appropriate - like a person's piece of the website. Hard to beat the deal of $20 per year for a few gigs or so of space (I notice the details are not on a sticky?) - maybe only an associate membership if they don't belong to TLCA -

Shouldn't be a lot of work for webmasters though. Maybe we could provide just a link to an index location as a default membership benefit?

Let's talk about it on Saturday.

Not sure what you are saying here. Are you taking about space at HDC as a benefit of the $20 membership? Do we have a post someplace on this subject I can sticky? I know we have talked about it in meetings, and I know several folks have space, but I don't recall those details discussed on MUD. Maybe we should.

If the folks with space at hdcruisers.org (Ron, Shawn, Mike, Steve, me, ?), or space someplace else, want to create a page for their trucks then I can easily link from the member's rigs page. That is not a problem. If you are saying the "webmasters" should create the pages for folks, your nuts :grinpimp:.

Maybe Ron can answer this. If I get space can I use my Mac web-builder program to create my web-page? That would be sweet.

I believe the answer is yes. You also need a way to FTP the page up into your folder. There are several free programs out there, plus some page builders will do that too.

We have tons of space available on the hosting site. We discussed this a bit when we moved to the new hosting site: https://forum.ih8mud.com/nm-high-desert-cruisers/192274-new-domain.html.

So far, the following have an id already:
Shawn, Steve, Jon, Mike, Marc, Evan, Onur, and myself.

Here are the steps to do this:
1.) Send me a note to create a login for you (give me the name you want).

2.) I add the user, and allocate 10gb for you, and create a password.

3.) I'll send you the password (sorry, you won't be able to change this on your own, so if you have a preferred password, let me know).

4.) You create your page with any number of free html programs, then upload the files to hdcruisers website using the id/password created in step 2. Some html editors can be configured with the id/password, and will upload for you.

5.) Make sure to make a "default" webpage of index.html. That way when someone goes to your site (http//slimbuddha.hdcruisers.org), they get a webpage, instead of a list of files you have there, as I have. The website will be accessible by two means:
Index of / or
Index of /slimbuddha

After that, we just need to make a single page where we reference all the members of the group, with a link to their individual site. If anyone needs help, let me know. I am no HTML guru, but i am familiar enough to get someone started.

I must have missed something. What is your project rig Paul?

I couldn't stand being the only one in the group without a non-running rig...;)
So, I bought a 40-project -- in pieces:doh:

I just started work on it and will hopefully learn as I go. I am sure I will be seeking advice as the project advances. I WAS planning on two years, but Jon said that was his original time table.

Right now, not much to look at.

Nah, couple weekends with HDC help, some duct tape and bailing wire and you're good to go

Thanks Paul. I don't feel so bad, except when Mike makes fun of me.:steer:

If it helps any, this has been in my garage since oh what? 2001? Started to put in a new harness, but I went on from there and who knows??? Lost motivation for a few years and slowly getting it back.

Greg,

You are forgetting tin foil! The PO wrapped the ignition wire to hide that they were burnt through. I thought maybe he had them on for heat protection. No wonder the 350 didn't have much power. Replaced them since, but have not heard of a V4 350???????

The scariest part of that is that you can get a new set of plug wires for those for like $15 or $20. Makes you wonder what else was skimped on

I say close that evil book and open up a new 80 chapter...resto is for rich people.
