Right on! I have to live it up while I can since I am planning on going to the coast gaurd academy next year. It's gonna be tough not being around my cruiser for a while!Been there, done that 3 times.. over 25 years..J

Got some work done on the rig after school. Finished putting the brake lines, which means all I have to do is mount up the driveshafts and shocks!

79 z28 4-speed! You were close! Ya my dad has a pretty good collection going on. 4 corvettes total: 65 convertible (matching numbers), 66 coupe that's begging for a big block conversion, an 81 in our garage (the only one that runs) and then the 71 LT1. All except for the 81 are barn finds, so they need to be restored.. But in my opinion that's what makes it fun! And I will snap some more pics tomorrow of the bumper, I got it all mounted up.

Thanks man! About 3 years ago I was handing my dad tools while we were rebuilding the motor and getting it ready for my 16th birthday. Now the tables have turned and he let me loose on this project. It has definitely been a learning experience!

Got a pretty good amount of work done this weekend, all I have to do now is mount up the hydro steer, add oil to the diffs, make sure everything is torqued up and clear the crossmember for my driveshaft!
Drilled the transfer case flanges for the new driveshafts. I couldn't justify spending 40 bucks a piece for new ones.
Rear bumper mounted up!
Got the shocks mounted front and rear. I am saving up for some billisteins, but I'm going to make these work for now!

More great work! The flange will be fine, you got lots of steel left there.

Thank you! And ya it worked perfectly, I bolted up the rear driveshaft and it is flush! And nope i haven't had any complaints about the tail light. The picture is a bad angle, it's not really that bad.

Great job on your spring over. Its awesome to see a fellow teenager that's into cruisers. I'm starting to get all the parts together to do a spring over on my cruiser also, and your thread makes me excited to start! When you get it on the ground and take it for a drive, let me know how it feels compared to the SUA.

Thanks man, it's been an adventure thats forsure! My advice for when you go SO is to get ALL of the parts together before you start.. I am talking everything from Highsteer to brake lines. I tore into the project basically without ordering any parts, mainly due to the fact that I was really anxious to get it rolling. And because of that , it has taken a lot longer than I had planned. And forsure man I will post up how it handles compared to SU! Should have it ready by the end of this week, just need to look over some things and make adjustments.

I thought about it, but decided not too. I had a man a fre shackle reversal kit on the truck before and wasn't really impressed. And I'm way past that point haha. I would have to re set my pinion angle and re do the cut and turn..
