This may be against all that is holly, but if I only have on e car 74' FJ40 and need it for a daily driver what are some things I can do to make it a better DD. Gears for freeway(slow freeway), front end, power steering, what s the most bang for the buck? Any comments welcome. Keep in mind I live in a small town and drive 10-15 miles daily

comfy seats and some good jams will get you far...

put gas in it and go.

i do 50 in a 77.
My thoughts too. Used to commute 120plus miles per day in Boston in a '76.... 10-15 miles...pfffft....truck's just gettin' warmed up.

Power steering is great but good seats and music will get you a long way.

Wait a minute. I am confused. Ah, that is a normal state for me.

But if you have only one car and then have an FJ 40, you would then have two "vehicles"?

You would then have to decide which one of the vehicles is going to be the daily driver. I am sure my 40 would not even start if I called it a "car" to its grill.

Good brakes and tight steering, not necessarily power steering.

I daily drove my 40 for 2 years without either of those. Now that it has good brakes, power steering, a 4 spd transmission, and more engine power, it is no longer my DD. .
