I bought this '97 Collectors Edition last fall with 215K on the clock. It was well cared for by its previous owner in North Carolina, but needed some maintenance and personality - which I dove right into and have enjoyed very much.

Services from McIntosh Imports to get it ready for another 100K miles.

No, it does not have locking axles.

Let me make one thing clear, I do not regret a penny I spent on this truck. I had a vision of the FJ80 I wanted since I was 17, and at this point in my life I could make it happen. The intention was to keep it for a loooong time, so why not spend the money and do it right? I love this truck and look forward to every chance to drive it. Can't believe all the compliments and attention it gets!

The complication here is that the truck isn't ideal for the road trips work and life have me committed to take on a regular basis and garage space is limited. Clearly the truck is not ideal for long-haul interstate driving, so I'm weighing out options...

I'd like to do one of two things - sell/trade the truck and move up to a 100 (or maybe even a 200) - or just keep the truck, enjoy it and buy a $3K Volvo or similar for road trips. Its a rust-free CE in great condition.... Not perfect, but great. I figured I'd put the truck up here, if someone wants to pick up an excellent example of the last year of the 80 series at a premium, let me know and I'll be happy to take detailed pictures and explain every detail of this truck. Maybe someone has a well sorted 100? There's well over $15K sitting in this truck, and with the work I've done its ready to go for the long haul with the right person. So at this point, if you're interested and understand the value, send me a DM and I'll go over the truck in detail.

Hi, Im local in Chucktown. I had been looking for a local 80 series for sale, but recently bought one from out-of-state, as nice ones rarely come up for sale around here. Anyway, its a nice looking rig, good luck with your sale. who did your landcruiser heaven seat cover installation?

Apologies for not posting an asking price. I've got so much into the car and enjoy driving it so much I hate to see it go. If I get $15K I'll probably let it go, but frankly I don't think the truck is worth that much - even though it has quite a bit more than that into it!

well...where more pics of both the interior and exterior and frame area (front and rear)?

Very nice rig for sure! On a side note, I remember reading a post and seeing a pic a few weeks a go of someone running 315 ko2s with spacers and I really liked it. I decided to go the same route on my truck, but i couldn't remember what size spacer to use. So I went to look for the pic and couldn't find it. I seriously searched for over an hour lol. I saw you mention spacers in this ad and the pic looked familiar, so I searched your name and found it! 1" spacers, now I can sleep well again!

Any pics if it from the front? I'd like to see how far out the tires go.

Have you sold your FJ80 yet?

@Landcruiserwanted you may want to go post up in the 80 section - this is for a guy trying to sell his rig

Guys the offers are coming in from all directions, and I'm ashamed to say I'm being a terribly flakey seller - because at the end of the day I don't really want to sell this truck. Its a great rig that I look forward to driving every time I get in. Its amazing for driving around town and off-roading. The issue is its terrible going up-hill at interstate speeds trying to pass anything...

One clarification, the Land Cruiser Heaven Leather Seat Cover Replacements are on-order (since Thanksgiving) and will hopefully arrive any day now. They'll be installed by a good friend and second-generation auto-upholstery guru with help from yours truly.

Apologies for not responding to PMs, will try to follow up on those this week - there's a few work/life priorities getting in the way.

Thanks!!!

Parting with a car you love is always tough. Take solace knowing that the next buyer will likely love it just as much as you do now - perhaps even more... ;)
