LAND CRUISER LIFE STARTER KIT
Edit: Asking $12,000 $10,000
"Some vehicles are bought with logic. This one is bought with nerve."
This is not an ad for a mall crawler, or a trailer queen. This is an ad for a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser that will outlive cockroaches and governments if you give it the occasional oil change. A full-metal freedom machine with just enough rust, and raw mechanical truth to terrify your HOA and make your ex question everything.
Title’s clean. Engine runs great. Frame’s cleaner than most Midwest trucks. The rust adds flavor.
Drive it away like a red-blooded American — wrapped in fireworks, soaked in gasoline, and daring the gods to stop you.
This is not a soft suburban SUV. It’s a fire-breathing, axle-twisting, gear-grinding juggernaut born to survive landslides, oil starvation, and family camping trips that end in therapy.
318,000 miles of loyal service.
I've driven this truck to the top of the UP, and down to Kentucky. It's conquered Moab and explored Ouray. It'd do it again tomorrow with the same level of anxiety I feel brushing my teeth. Zero drama.
This truck will go absolutely anywhere, any distance on the highway, then wheel like no other, then run you home no issues.

THE TRUTH:
This Land Cruiser is not Excellent, not Very Good, and maybe not even Good by Kelley Blue Book standards—but by God, it’s a high-functioning Fair. The kind of "Fair" that gets you across state lines without wondering which roadside diner you’ll be stranded in. It’s the kind of “Fair” you can trust to get you home, even if “home” is 900 miles away and uphill both ways.
This Cruiser has been enthusiast owned for most of it’s life and it shows! I bought the truck with the plan to LS swap it in the future, but this thing runs too good as-is to really want to rip it apart. I have another LS swapped 80, and I can’t keep both.
Body Damage? Surprisingly little for a truck that's been to the ends of the earth and back. Dents and dings are prevalent, but no major damage.
Rust? Yes. Originally a KY to MO to MI truck (10 years in MI). It’s seen salted roads and is 28 years old. There is rust in the rockers and rear quarters. Frame and axles were sand blasted and painted by the PO and are still in good shape.
Was supercharged for a while - removed by PO several years ago
THE VIBE:
Interior is decent. Seats are leather and torn. Stereo works. AC works. Very quiet and comfortable inside, family friendly.
I’ve run out of excuses to have three Land Cruisers and was forced to make Sophie’s Choice between this beast, my 62 Fire Truck and my LS Swapped 80. My loss is your gain.
LOCATION:
Located: Pinckney, Michigan
Willing to work with out-of-state buyers.
Bring cash and courage.
More pics available upon request – interior, undercarriage, rocker, VIN, etc.
Edit: Asking $
