If you look under the front skid, the plug should be obvious.

AggiePhil - I remember seeing someone post about accidentally draining the ATF instead of Engine Oil, then overfilling the engine oil and starting (i.e. drained ATF and overfilled engine oil = bad news)... so my advice to you is to make sure you know where both Transmission pan and Engine Oil Pan are so there's no room for confusion. Check out the FSM for diagrams or find a thread with pics to bolster your confidence.

Would be nice if there was a tech article on here somewhere detailing the steps and tools needed but I'm not as dense as I probably come across.

12mm socket if you want to remove the skid plate. 14mm socket for the drain plug. Strap wrench for the filter.

Use a fresh drain plug washer...from the dealer, not a substitute from the local parts place.

Had the fumoto valve on mine for less than a week - loved the idea, but couldn't get it to stop seeping and decided it wasn't worth the risk.
still got it - if anyone wants it for cheap pm me.

be careful when ordering.... I believe ours is the F-103 or F-103N (nipple).....anything else may fit but not seal properly. Good luck.

Yep - I ordered the correct F-103 (i just looked back at the order), but it just seeped. Iirc i used with and without the crush washer, and i used torque wrench for proper torque and i'm sure i even tightened a little over the fsm torque a few times during that week but to no avail. After multiple attempts I decided it wasn't worth the risk for me.
Maybe I got a bad one, but honestly I saw numerous other complaints about seeping, and people trying to fix by not using washer or using two washers etc.
and then there's the theoretical possibility of an accidental opening of the valve or the prankster who doesn't need a tool to empty your engine oil...

heres some pics of a fumoto versus OE bolt and the correct location for oil pan drain. i've never used the valve style with the nipple, and i've never had a problem getting a clean streaming flow. regarding getting under the rig without jack stands, this valve makes it easier, just reach in with a needle nose and twist
