Oh -- Didn't know a Camaro pan would fit .. Will it ? Does the pan have a skid ?

I know I dont check in here as often as I used to but how did I miss that you are swapping in an LS1 or are you just swapping a to ls1 oilpan?

My 5.3 truck pan hits the diff on the street :lol:so I need more clearance I was told the Camaro pan would do this .... and was hopin to hear more from others that it did and or see pics cause it aint cheap on a maybe... SOA and oil pan just to make the 4wd hook up again:rolleyes: but its fast :D

Hey Kling-on, I had the original oil pan modified. Right after after the conversion, the pan was hitting the diff & started leaking, so I pulled it off and cut about a 1" wide X 4" long piece on the side it was hitting, put that same cut-off piece on the inside of the pan and had it tig welded. It does not look real pretty but it has worked and it was a lot cheaper than getting a new pan. I can send you a pic if you'd like.

Also, the way I did this, I dremmeled around and cut the piece out and put the same cut out piece on the inside of the pan and a friend welded and filled the rest. Like I said, it has held good.

do you have a front drive shaft ??? does it clear the pan ??... my yoke is hittin the pan as well :eek:
 
MANUCHAO is running one on his 5.3 I'm running one for my 6.0. I got mine from a 2004 Camaro F-body

no such thing as an 04 F body camaro....

production ended in 02 then begun again this year (2009).

Yes I do and it fits fine other than the fact that it is a little short. My wagon has the Toyota 5 speed though- not sure if that makes a difference.
