I've got a 4.5l 1FZ-FE Dual Fuel 80, and when the car hasn't been run for a few hours, it has trouble trying to start on LPG. It always starts, (so far...) but it takes a long time to crank over.
It seems as if the the gas drains back into the tank and there isn't anything left in the fuel line.
The Starter motor is fine as i just had it replaced a few months ago.

If anyone has any ideas, pls let me know!
Thanks!

I always thought that all LPG conversions, started on Petrol and automatically swapped to LPG at a set temp point, that is what mine is like. so it still maybe a petrol problem and not LPG

I concur with SnowWolf. I've had mine for 5yr+ . Not run it recently and not in cold weather. However while in Scotland if I tried to run it directly off LPG at startup (and when it was cold) it could splutter and often konk out. Switching it over after 3-5mins after startup and it was fine.
It could be something 2 do with what size/type of vaporiser (and how hot it gets the the gas) as its injecting. I believe most vaporisers are "operated" via bypass from heater pipes (off engine) and hence until engine warms up (and hence water) its still 2 cool to properly heat-up and hence vaporise the gas.
Make sense?

The LPG regulator will freeze up almost imediately on startup if the engine is not already warm. You really need to run on gas until the engine temps start to rise. The warm coolant is what keeps the regulator from freezing up.
