30' should be lots, in fact you'll likely find they take up more space in you gear drawer/bag/box because they're so long.

Welding cable should work well, the tinned marine grade stuff is good to if you live in an area thats more prone to rust.

Oh, a REMEMBER, use Yellow for 12V with the anderson to be 'standard'...
