yeah I put an ad up on mud a while ago. no dice.

But that was before I knew the extent of the actual condition of the frame.

I suppose I could try again.

I have to make some money with this rig

CS is in business to make a profit.

They will also want to give you as little as possible.

You will get the most piece by piece.

Have you considered parting it out?

YEP its a PIA

But desperate times call for desperate measures...

just part the big $$ items and take the rest to a scrap yard, scrap prices are really high right now.

Sorry to hear of your frustration with Cruiserparts. I have no business interest in James' place other than the services and products I've purchased there. I have always been satisfied, very satisfied. I've been there, the phone never stops ringing, and I'm amazed at how well they try to satisfy customers. If you want to know more-I mean specific examples of what I speak-PM me. James knows his "stuff" and is beseiged with emails for technical help. His knowlege of Cruisers is almost encyclopedic.

Like I said...I don't mean to badmouth or belittle them, I've bought parts from them without a problem. But when you run a business that has serious customer traffic, there needs to be a better way. Divide the company into departments, hire more help. You can't have just one guy sitting in an office answering phones and putting people on hold. The expert "James" should probably be the one on the phone more than the other guy. That's just my opinion.

I've ordered from CruiserParts.net at least a dozen times and every single order has been screwed up in one way or another. This ranges from completely incorrect/unusable parts to some minor do-dad left out.

They are nice people (to me) but I've been forced to stop ordering from them.

I guess it's a love/hate thing with these guys. I honestly haven't had a problem with buying their parts... The thing that bothers me the most right now is that for weeks I've been trying to sell them my rig. They say that they buy rigs for parts. Ok...well, what's the problem? I sent them plenty of pics of my rig...no reply. I call them to speak to the legendary "James" no dice. I was lucky enough to get one email from him. However, I still haven't got an answer to my "Will you buy my truck?" question. Whatever...I guess I'm just sore because I'm stuck with this brick with wheels. I can't seem to give it away.

oh...and I still haven't heard back from Cruiser Solutions. What's up with these people? Maybe I'm expecting too much...I'm a firm believer in eMail etiquette

I have never ordered from them, but I sure have read many negative reports about them on this site.

Departments??? You all should know that cruiserparts.net is in the final stages of relocating their autosalvage business. The business....and it could be described as a mom and pop affair, with junior (James) running the show. The business employs Mom, Dad, James, his sister and 2-3 regular employees. They just moved their salvage yard from their hilly farm in Northfield, NH to Sullivan, NH about an hour away. They moved....something like 200+ cruisers and are still taking inventory....and trying to run a business. Apparently the were zoned out of their current property and "made" to relocate.

As for other salvage yards in the northeast, try local pick adn pulls. Kina with north country cruisers has a ton of rigs on his property. You could also contact Wally (Tyke Moses) in southern Vermont (try farmboy@sover.net).

Departments....hmph.

I was dealing with Cruiserparts for years without any problems .. aceptable time on response, but at the start of this year ( end of the past ) the customer service was not the same .. maybe they are busy with huge deals or much more apreciable customers than me with barely 100 or 200 bucks orders ..

But I love great customer service .. good example of this customer service is Kurt ..

Issues

If anyone has an issue please email me directly. sales@cruiserparts.net / The last few years have been difficult. But, we are slowly building back up to full capacity. I personally am stretched very thinly. I am not kidding when I say there are 10-15 people that want to talk to me every single day. That takes up 10 minutes to 1 hour each call. I would have no time to get anyone there parts. Or, get back with the few hundred emails that I get every week. Each and every person wants my direct attention. I am only one guy that loves cruisers and the people I meet. I cannot do everything. Hence I hire employees that are sometimes very stretched themselves depending on the workload.

We are very interested in hiring some cruiserheads. Jobs are available from $12 to $20 an hour. Please feel free to email and see if you want to work here and help out cruisers all over the world.

Sorry for any issues. We do try and work out everyone of them quickly. But, as in any used parts business. Sometimes the guys pulling parts mess up. Very possible with 40 + orders leaving every day with a bunch of parts in each order.

--------As to this thread directly--------
As to someone selling me a vehicle. Yes, we do buy them. But no, we cannot pay more then what it is worth to us after transport costs. A rust free running FJ60 is worth $4k delivered. A rusted out FJ60 that nobody wants any parts from is only worth around $1k delivered. I never knew the frame was rotted away until this thread. Trevor did tell you that we would get back to you later that day. You continued to call and take up his time. I was on the way home and doing emails and was writing you an email about buying your truck when I received your email blasting me about not buying your truck. I do not feel that I as the buyer need to deal with an angry seller. I know your probably stressed a bit about the truck and its issues. So, I didn't bother responding as I don't need extra stress.
------------------------------------------

In closing. Each and every issue is dealt with. As to people getting the wrong parts, rusty parts, etc. This only happens out of maybe 1 order every day. To put that in perspective thats one order thats a bit messed up out of say 40 orders daily. Out of that one order every day. It is generally a miscommunication problem with what the person is wanting. Say ordering a VSV #1 when its an A/C idle up valve that is needed. Then telling us its our fault. We happily eat shipping all directions and the guy gets a free part that we lost money on. As far as a rusty part issue. Everyone has there own definition of a refinish able part. I watch ebay all the time and the sellers will sandblast a rusted out part and sell it with huge rust divets and rustoleum on the part and people are happy paying twice what its worth. We sell a better part with no rust divets but that flash surface rust and some guys have fits. Its all in the eye of the beholder. Its a difficult business.

Then we have the people that buy a $2200 navigation screen and do a chargeback to there credit card and get the part for free. So, yes, I have my own stress thats not even our fault. Anyone in MI want to recover it for us?:)

Or another example is a lady in CT who buys a complete $1400 factory exhaust system for a 1994 cruiser brand new. Doesn't like the "sound of it" and charges back the complete amount. Free exhaust system and theres nothing we can do.
People are crooks sometimes!
------------------

In closing........ I love helping everyone out. Some people have issues in there lives, work etc. Then we get the brunt of it. Other times it is our fault and we do our best to rectify the situation.

Each and everyone of the repliers to this thread have had there various issues dealt with fairly and they were ok with it at the time as far as I know.

I don't have time to browse here often. But, I do enjoy the reading.
Everyone have a great day!
James

amen to that brother... was it AMEX or Visa/MC that screwed you on the charge back?

For Cruiserparts,

Hey, I'm not the bad guy. All I ask is for some timely responses to emails or even a phone call. If you have the time to defend your business on this forum...then you should have Trevor or yourself demonstrate better business practices. By trevor telling me multiple times that someone will call me back, an no one does, that's not cool.

I had no idea that your business was small but obviously it is growing, and growing fast. I'm proud of that. but post a disclaimer on your website stating that you guys are currently overwhealmed and need time to make things right. I could easily take my rig and drive it off a cliff...I would rather see cruiserheads get good parts they could use from my truck. that's all.

I don't wish to add stress to your business. And with me calling and emailing you guys constantly should show that I want to give you my business. but I needed to let you know how a loyal customer (me) felt regarding my request not being addressed.

I hope we can eliminate any bad blood and do some business.

Dan

Nice reply Dan. Sometimes in the absence of timely responses in this internet world of ours....we can get frustrated. I have had some similar communication experiences with cruiserparts.net and other vendors. Half the time it was my own damn fault. The main difference for me and about James is that he always makes it right.....if not with this part, then with the next order down the road. Good luck....

James,

I'm interested in seeing how you complete the possible transaction with Droopynut. Your response included many things: Examples, reasons and explanations. But the real issue remains: Will you buy his truck and for how much?

My intention is not to badger you. I am pointing out that the issue is unresolved. Here is your opportunity to be a stand up guy in our forum fraternity. How will you proceed?

Droopynut, please continue to inform us of the sale of your truck until it's gone. Lets have a little closure here!

Rick
