Too far north. Too far east.
Owner is Paul and we crossed paths at Staples. As soon as I pulled in my camera was out snapping. Paul was in line and saw my interest.

He is from out of town on business and will be here for a few weeks. I've invited him to a meeting.

That is a right hand drive FJ62 with a V8 conversion done by TLC. Normally I wouldn't get too excited about a 62, but the ambulance doors caught my attention.

Nice!

Funny, while we were killing time waiting for the exhaust on the 40 to get done, we spotted the same truck in Nob Hill..... and took almost the same picture of the ambulance doors.

Very cool, I think. They are "wider" than I imagined.

That's a neat Cruiser! I'd be curious as to the country of origin?

The doors to me are a novelty. I much prefer a tailgate. It gives me a place to sit and a place to cook my dinner.

I agree. I would be trying to get rid of them if mine had them. The tailgate is much more versatile. Maybe for a troopie where you have rear seats facing each other and need to get people in the back through normal doors, but a 2-piece tailgate provides shade, rain protection, and horizontal work space.

In OZ, the doors are on the low-end Cruisers and the tailgate is on the high-end versions.

I think I remember it for sale on Mud. It's a US model and they had TLC do the amby doors, IIRC. Can't imagine spending TLC dollars on any 60 series, but it looks like a sweet ride.

Jon stated it's RHD. I doubt they would convert a US model to RHD...?

I did, but I'm starting to wonder. I'm hoping Paul can make the meeting. From the pic, I think I see a wheel on the left side.
