CYLINDER ASSY, REAR WHEEL BRAKE
47550-60120

We replaced rod ends and did a driveway alignment. the tie rod was bent a little, after 5 or 6 cycles through the press we managed to get it pretty straight. The steering damper has about an inch of play between direction changes, so i will find a replacement and the drivers front outer brake pad is wearing at a pretty step angle, looks like the bottom piston is stuck. i will take a look at it tomorrow. Jonathan helped with the rod ends, and then we replaced the front rotors and on his cruiser. Also met (thewhitefox) "John" today he recently picked up a nice low mileage 91' 80.

I hope the HAMOM is on a cool summer day with overcast skies. Working on Cruisers in full sunlight is not fun. Thanks for your help and wisdom @fourtrax. Tell Garrett I said thanks as well.

well, pulled the left front caliper off and played it it for awhile finally, gave up on it as 3 of the 4 pistons are frozen in place. you can see the uneven wear on the pads.

Logan had talked about upgrading front brakes in several threads, so i wasn't sure what to expect on the front calibers but the part number is s13wa is listed by Cardone to fit a 91-92 model year Land Cruiser. I decided it wasn't worth anymore time. NAPA has some semi-loaded calibers for $47 each, will stop by and pick a pair up or order them in the morning. Jonathan ordered a set of EBC pads to go with the new calipers.

I pulled the rear t-case extension off and everything including the bearings seem good. so ill order a output seal and a speed-o o-ring from FAT in the morning, and button it backup when the parts come in. just wondering if i should go ahead and replace the remaining component (right rear brake cylinder) since the left one is leaking. The right one looks oK.

Didn't realize the junk yard with the cruisers was closed in a Sunday so I struck out on the headlight. I will go grab it next saturday.

Also eric are there any other parts on a junk yard cruiser that could be helpful?

He had gotten junk yard calipers and dust shields off a 95 with me......no clue where he would have put them though.

In reading some of the threads are seems to be some indication that the 95 calipers won't fit on the 92 Knuckles different part numbers according to cDan (it was an old post and it was never really cleared up as it would work or not).

if you can find an unbroken pair of front interior door handle covers in blueish gray, that would be nice.

I can confirm they do, I put the 95 calipers off of Jason's old cruiser on my 92.

Wheel cylinder ordered. Once it comes in, I'll update here and can leave it at fat if someone local wants to grab it. If not, I can get it to you guys this weekend.

Thanks Jon, I need to order a couple seals, so I'll be over the FAT Tuesday or Wednesday to pick them up

Just getting in on this .... sorry if i missed it ... was there a nail down on the date ... 7/22, 7/23, both?

I'm in for wrenching, just wanting to get it on calendar.

Have kick-a$$ squirrel fan and can bring any needed tools.

Either or both works. More of an open invitation and this point if anyone wants to come work on it with us. I'm pretty good on tools as long as everyone isn't trying to use the same wrench at the same time.

picked up wheel cylinder today (Thanks S4Cruiser) also got the output seal and the o-ring. decided to just go with the Napa calibers in front. to many unknowns and logistics the other way (next time). i'll try to pick them up tomorrow and get the brakes buttoned back up.

got the front calipers/pads installed installed last night. had a few other items on me to do list to tackle, never made it back to install the rear cylinder. hope to do that this evening.

Awesome job Eric. Really a great thing you are spearheading here
