An auto locker works very well with AWD, almost transparent. If converted to part time, will have the same issues that any other RWD rig has.

This may be a stupid question (I’m new to 80’s).. did yours have the LSD rear? Would there be any differences in the tune/computer between an open vs LSD rear?
I don't know about limited slip or whatever to be honest. I just plugged in my vehicle year and ordered the one that was recommended on the website.
If your center diff automatically locks when you put your truck in low then I would highly recommend doing the pin 7 mod and adding the center diff lick switch so that you can control the center diff. If you already have the switch in place then you'e good.

I locked both front and rear on my LX450 on mud ranch roads while hog hunting last weekend, and ended up unlocking the front. It was un-steerable.
I've been so busy since I got this truck that this was the biggest off road challenge I've thrown at it so far. It was a BEAST.
