anything happening here?

I WISH!

Remodeling a House right now, should be done on the 10th of this month.

Been a busy summer. Quick update. I found the perfect body candidate for this project. Mudmonster's LV. I picked it up yesterday over in Yakima washington. Yakima is in the Dessert and the truck has been sitting there for over 24 years so its in great shape.

The floors have already been cut and the rear quarters are a mess as well. Mudmonster didn't know how rare these were until after he cut the fenders out. He sincerely regrets it now.

The reason this rig is perfect is because it is already rough. I would have had to cut Brando's fenders out anyways.

As soon as my House sells, I will be buying a few more tools and kick off this build.

Frank created a wheeler out of a FJ40 and a 96 80 series. He hasn't finished the front yet he said, but you can see what you are up against for the front distance.

With the Back cut like that, you got room for a 49" irock ;) Do it!!

How did that trailer ride like that

i look forward to the progress!

The trailer rode good like that... a little tounge heavy but way better than nose first. Nose first would have created a ton of fishtails making it very dangerous. This way pulled straight.

Wow, that is a great picture of a 40 on an 80 series. I see that hood doesn't quite reach the front bib. About 4" perhaps? I won't be keeping the interior of the 45... I may fabricate my own or keep the 80 series, this may help with room but no guaranties. I want to keep the radiator up front though.... The way I want this build to go will allow for 6+ people to ride in the rig. Thanks for sharing the picture

Sure looks that way but no. He cut it and created a 4 link rear end bringing the axle back 8". This rig had a 454 in it as well... but he pulled it all after he lost interest. It would be sick seing one of these as a 6x6... not this one though :)

Tonight I spent a few hours on the LV. Hooked up the blaster and spent 30 minutes on the Quarter... came right off. Not having the right mask stopped the progress. (fogging it up). Called around Seattle looking for prices on getting my truck body and parts blasted... they want $100 - 120 an hour to blast. And they estimate the whole truck would cost $1200. I hung up the phone and ordered a good mask.

Tore into the rig, cleaned out the engine bay and removed all items in the dash.
In a couple days I will pull out the 80 and start the tear down to the floor.

looks like a blast, have fun keep us posted on progress.

Anyone Bored yet? 3 Weeks till the LV gets snipped.

Anyone Bored yet? 3 Weeks till the LV gets snipped.

3 weeks later and I have a herniated disk... from yard work. LV is still shoved in the far back of the garage.

Pulled the 80 out though and mosey'd my way through stripping a few parts off it. Taking it very easy as I don't want to permanantly ruin my back.
