Here are the few tires that I have:

-315 75r16 Cooper STT. Purchased 2006, used only a few times for trips from FSJ to Whonnock when I didn't want to run the swampers but they are the tires for my endless mine truck project so haven't had a good test, but good on the highway even on sloppy old SOA trucks.

load rating 3195 lbs
Tread 3x poly, 2x steel, and 2x nylon
Side wall 3x poly

-35x12.5x15 OLD Goodyear Wranglers. Bought with wagon, who knows how old, but they are near wore out. looks like they had quite a life on many trucks and few nicks indicating they were wheeled, side wall looks good

load rating 2535 lbs
Tread 3x poly, 2x steel, and 2x nylon
Side wall 3x poly

-9.00x16 Michilen XL military tires (26 inch skinnys). Bought used and wore down to wear bars (have regroved), only used on trailer and once when I blew bead off truck drove it on trail and back from tumbler on icy highway, seemed to do OK, but other tires were swampers. very well used lots of nicks indicating off road use, and except for old age cracks seem in real good shape.

load rating 3970 lbs
Tread just says 4 steel ply
Side wall just says 1 steel ply

I know all of you are bias Swamper haters, but though I would post up the numbers for them as well:

-36x12.5x15 TSL. Bought two sets brand new one in 2006 (still running on my 42) and one set two years ago. old set ran numerous times from FSJ to the Valley and many off road trips, plus once from here all the way to California and back for Pismo. Lots of hard wheeling and no sidewall damage. Not even sure if there has been any tread damage, but if so all has been pluged in the field.

load rating 2725 lbs (I think old ones rated a little higher)
Doesn't say anything on the new ones and the old ones only say 4x nylon
web site says 6 ply tread and 4 ply side

Cheers,
Deny

I think a set of q78/16s would look nice and preform well on the 75 or your 79.

I did up a table in Excel, but when I try to attach it says invalid file.

In the past I have attched Word and pdf files no problem - Excell no go.

Anyone know a 'work around' on this ?

Depending on what programs you have sometimes you can print a .jpg of your document. At work I can print a .pdf file. If it's not a large table you could do a "print screen" then paste into some kind of image editor and crop out the stuff on the outside so you just see the table you created.

OK will do ...
Andrew who started this thread has not posted his Duratrac data-- I can only guess he is outside changing tires ????:grinpimp:

Settle lads, I have an office job and rarely get to touch the beloved Cruiser.

Funny enough, last night I was out changing tires. Swapping Kerri's winters onto the Acura though, not changing Duracraps.

I should be able to get a shot tonight, though I;ll have to use my flash since it is dark before I even get home:mad:

First time I've heard of the metric 255/100r16 size available locally like you can get in europe. No problem to mount them on your stock 16x7 rims I wouldn't think.

The xzl "clone" thing would be a concern to me if they aren't actually new michelins . Would need to find out more before committing to that kind of pricing.

I believe my rims are 16x8 not 7... and agreed regarding the "clone". I just them an email asking:

Your ad says "Michelin XZL Clone" - does that mean they are not actually Michelin tires?
Would these work safely on a 16x8 rim (OEM on Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series)
How many of these will you be offering, and for how long? If I were to buy 5 of them, and needed to replace one a year or two down the road, how difficult would it be to obtain one?

Holy f**** ya! :D

Are these suitable for my oem rim? And... are they normally really hard to get a hold of? Any clue? :)

XZLs? Near unobtainium.
First I've seen of a 255/100R16 here too. Great size.

I too would REALLY want to know exactly what they are before laying down any cash.

Exactly. "Clone" sets off all sorts of warning bells. Though, if it's a GOOD clone, then... *meh*

I'll post back the reply when I receive it.

I would be worried about highway speeds though. Can tires like this handle 110km/h safely?

You can get Michelins at the local Unimog Dealer Mross in Langley. They are tough as hell, generaly not very compliant and speed rated at 60 mph.
