Having trouble finding this...

looking for a hub to wheel arch measurement or something similar.

Cheers

ok i've found some heights based off lifted heights from dobinson springs.

stock heights hub to lip of guard:-
Front 510 mm
Rear 540 mm

Currently mine sits at 510 front, and 500 rear.

I'm looking at getting a dobinson 2" lift, but when fitted it apparetnly puts the front at 555 and the rear at 590. Currently the car sits fairly level and the idea of having the rear sit 5cm higher than the front is a bit strange.

surely 5cm is enough to make it look pretty silly?

btw. these springs are not heavy duty so are not meant to be carrying big loads to level the car out.

Don't know the factory off hand but here are some pics with mine (two tone color) with 4.5inch Zeal lift and 35 inch tires and one with a 2 or 2.5 inch lift with 33in all terrain tires. The one with 33 in tires and mild lift looks like it has the same space between the tire and wheel well like stock. I didn't think it even had a lift on it until I looked at the tire size.

now i am really curious. you say the 77 series is "ugly and plain" and yet you drive the same thing (but with a prado front end...)

go figure.

whats up with the size of that giant wheel in that third picture......jeezuz

None. Not on this one, not on the last one (then I put 4 inches of lift into it for other reasons).

The only rubbing I get is when i'm going over rocks and one of them gets jacked up into the guard so high it just very very slightly rubs on the inner centre top.

There are several different spring combinations from Dobinsons, and they do offer heavier duty for carring loads.

Stock Height is published above, but does anyone know the stock Toyota coil spring rate?
It is my understanding Dobinson coil rate is 36N/nm for the front and 41N/nm for the rear.

Just curious how much stiffer these are then the stock Toyota springs. I find the stock suspension too soft and vague.
Can anyone else confirm this experience and advise on the best cure.

Thanks!!
Don
