MasterCraft was stopped for 25-30 minutes with un-known issues and lost 6 positions. Back underway now and looking to make up some ground as they head back North to San Felipe.

Joe is still rolling in the Lexus and is through the mountains and about to hit the dry lake beds as he heads South to San Felipe.
 
Well it's been about 30 minutes that MasterCraft has been stopped at RM 405. Looks like Menzies will win the points championship this year. :crybaby:

Joe is just leaving San Felipe now around Zoo Road at RM 410

Looks like Menzies with a 4th place finish will WIN the Championship while the McMillin's won the race.

Looks like MasterCraft finished in 11th and Rob Mac will have to settle for Second in points this year.

This years 1,000 just finished with the Son of Baja Gus Vildosala winning his second peninsual run in a row. He won the peninsula run in 2008. BJ Baldwin just came in second but team Mastercraft still has a chance for Rob MacCachren to get the overal season championship with a 12th place or better finish.

On the LC front Joe Bacal is currently around RM 615 he is in the #861 Lexus this year.

I went down for the start of the Baja 1000 and was photographing all the vehicles at RM23. It rained on us. I even had to assist with communications between Weatherman Diablo and SCORE Ops, I dubbed myself Media Relay and jumped in and started helping them get resources distributed for several different incidents. One was a really bad accident involving a racers wife driving a chase truck. Last I heard was she had several broken neck vertebrae broken ribs and a collapsed lung. She needed a helo to a life flight plane to get back to the states for treatment. Unfortunately someone at the scene did pass away due their injuries.
