Liland all aluminum radiator

Installed a Liland Model 1918AA in my 1997 LC last weekend.
$195 plus $11 shipping from Rock Auto.
Install went well. No plastic parts to break down. I had a cracked tank on the original.
The design eliminates the side brackets (not the mounts). It was 3/16 less on width so I had to use shim washers to align the lower mounts, but that is better than being slightly too wide.
The fan shroud does not fit tight against the radiator (1/4 gap at the top), but I modified the shroud tabs to make it fit better. I recommend using the bolts left over from the bracket instead of the normal shroud bolts since the are shorter can can't touch the tank.

I have more photos of the fittings if anyone is interested.
I have only done normal driving in 90 degrees outside temp so far and coolant temp is normal.

Do you run a ODB2 or similar device and have any delta information from your original rad to this one? Would be interesting to see the numbers if you do.

I didn't think of running the OBD2 on the previous radiator, but I can on the new.
I did use an IR thermometer at the thermostat housing and return hose and they were similar to the original.

I replaced the thermostat and radiator cap as well. I cleaned the old ones (for spares) by putting them in CLR and they look like new. Remarkable for 22 year old parts.

I emailed Liland about their testing and they indicated they pressure test under water three times at 20 psi.

ERG80, I saw your earlier post about Rock Auto picking up the LIland radiator so that's how I found it.

How many cores and how thick is the core? Can you take a pic in the cap opening?

You can use foam strips to fill the gap between the shroud and radiator

Yes if you fit it before installing. I cut a square hole in the shroud tabs so the radiator tabs went through and used a large washer to pull it snug. I'll try to get a photo.

@Kernal Their shop is in Syracuse, NY. It looks like all the radiator shops I’ve seen before but neither their website or Rock Auto's say where they are made. It's probably china.

I need to buy a radiator and leaning towards a TYC for temp drop reports. Would like to know more about this one or any others I should consider such as how many rows and any improved performance. I like the idea of not using plastic tanks.

They are out there, but at 1000$+ it is not practical for many of us.
