Hoping somebody has a better idea than me for my 75.

My blinkers and hazard lights went out. I’ve done everything noted in other threads (checking grounds, etc) with no luck. I was fiddling around with the hazard switch last week and noticed that it felt warm. While I was doing that, the hazards transiently came on (less than 30 seconds). I haven’t been able to make this happen again.

I ordered a new hazard switch, but that didn’t fix the problem. However, when I was checking the lights, I also noted that my brake lights weren’t working (the red lights light up when the headlights are on… they just don’t brighten when I hit the brakes).

Please give me some ideas if you have any. I’m thinking about just changing the flasher just in case it’s that.

here is EVERYTHING you need to know why that is occuring ,

study from post #1 all the way to the end ....

then , review the below TECH. video only after that please , this way you can fully digest what correction steps are needed based on your needs as well ,

i created both below to help folks like yourself , help me help you , and this helps you more , and that is all that matters ..... 🔮

Firstly it sounds like your Stop fuse is blown or corroded since it feeds both the Hazards and the Stop lights.

Check for 12v (with respect to ground) on each side of it.

If your turn signals are also not working then you have another problem. Possibly your turn fuse, but more likely corrosion on the hazard switch connector - check each pin is clean.

Photos always help.

The horn and its relay is part of the stop and 4 way flasher circuit also. I know this because I've recently been have problems with the fuse blowing on my 75 40. I haven't dove deep into the issue yet, but haven't blown the fuse since disconnecting it. Time will tell.

This topic below is my 2nd Technical Suggestion to inspect , confirm and verify ,.,,

- the 1975 HAZARD SWITCH has UNIQUE and well someway flawed design feature after say 25-50 + years where dust , age and time will cause your exact symptoms , the GETTING WARM quote abober in YELLOW ink , i missed last night , sorry ....

- but , focus on this details below ,

- remove your POS/ Batt Cable 1st step , DO NOT overlook this safety topic , PLEASE !

- see tech images below , should be self explanatory , and YES you need to remove the HAZARD switch from dash completely ,

- via ash tray removed access , and or cluster meter removed access , its in the center and so is your front heater box , so NO under up access .....fyi

Thank you all for the responses. Here’s a status update.

I installed the new hazard switch without resolution. There is a picture below of the wiring harness with a little corrosion. Do you think that’s enough to cause the malfunction? If so, I haven’t been able to clean it off. Any ideas where to get a repair kit?

Also, I pulled the fuse box out, cleaned all of the connections and put new fuses in. The brake lights and horn are working now but one of my fog lights won’t come on and I managed to kill the battery. So I’m going to charge the battery and see where I stand before working on anything else.

Here’s the pic of the harness. The old hazard switch had a matching area of corrosion. Second pin from the left on the bottom row.

Yes that's exactly the problem.
Just fold up a piece of fine sandpaper and sand it gently - add some wd40 to wash it out.
Extracting terminals is better if you feel confident but otherwise there's a risk of breaking them.
Check you have continuity across both slides of the connector
