So I just was told I have a loose control arm or something on the front driver side and it wouldn’t allow them to align to tires. Would now be the time to go for a 2” lift or something in that range. Or just replace to control arm.
 
Control arm isn't something replaced typically in a lift. I'd narrow down what the something is that's loose - upper? lower? bushing? ball joint?
They couldn’t diagnose fully said it could be a strut. I know my suspension is going out so I was wondering if I could knock it all out in one punch. I hit a piece of metal on the interstate which gave me a flat and did some extra damage I didn’t know about
 
Truck doesn't have struts, I'd be concerned about the shop if that's what they're telling you. Also when you say you're suspension is going out, that's a broad statement too. Miles and year of your truck? If higher miles, may just need new shocks, OEM is a great and inexpensive solution. Alignment issue, again with miles, could be a bushing, could be a ball joint. Good shop should be able to tell you exactly what it is.

I’m just passing on what they told me and it was Toyota that told me these things. 270k miles and it’s a 2000. They couldn’t take it in to the main shop that day which was helpful.
 
Where would you like me to take it to a Land Cruiser specialist that’s booked out until the end of October. It was a alignment…

The guys are pointing out that you're not getting good guidance from the "shop" you talked to. Dealerships often have "main shops" and "express lanes" or similar. The latter is staffed by guys who change oil, filters, rotate tires and maybe do alignments. I'd trust an actual Toyota technician to diagnose the issue. I would not, however, trust a Toyota dealership to do this work. They may get it right, but it'll cost you WAY more than a good, independent Toyota shop that specializes in, or at least does a lot of work on Land Cruisers. These are not unicorn shops. There are plenty out there.
 
I'd try to get more details from them on what the issue is that they can't align the truck. As for your lift question, some pieces are shared, most aren't. If you replace or crank the front torsion bars, you'd need to get an alignment, then you're back to figuring out what it is that's preventing them from aligning the vehicle. At 270k there's an open wallet of things you could look at replacing - shocks, ball joints, pretty much every bushing in the suspension, etc.

Believe me I know that toyota wants to rip my head off I’m not stupid, they just quoted me 15k of work for my other cruiser. I said they couldn’t take it into the main shop reading comprehension is big. I can’t find anymore but one around me and I don’t really wanna drive very far being as I just got a new set of tires. If I got good guidance I wouldn’t be here

Yea that’s kinda what I was afraid of. I think the ball joints are fine they are decently new. I’m taking it back on Monday.
 
Where in Arkansas are you? Have you considered hitting up the local forums here on mud to find a competent indy in your area?

That'd be my move, instead of taking it the same dealer who's already shown you they a- don't know what they are doing or b- don't care about your truck.

Central Arkansas. It’s been going to that same dealership since we’ve owned it about 6 years. They didn’t have space in the main shop that day but I agree how long could it really have taken to look at it. I’ve looked at a few and the one that specializes in cruisers is booked til the end of October. I’ve got homework to do on this thanks man.
 
No one is calling you stupid and yes we are able to comprehend your posts.

I would say there is a reason the Landcruiser shops around you are unfortunately booked until the end of October.
 
If you own a jack and jack stands, or have access to them, there are a number of things you can do yourself to determine the issue. Go to the FAQ and start going over the suspension related threads. If you can figure what is wrong you may be able to fix it yourself or take it to a inde shop to get it fixed.
