I went with 2 1/2 dual headers into y pipe and straight out the back. I used a old school glass pack sounded good with the Chevy 350 not to loud.

Probably the best undercarriage picture ever! Sad, obviously but not what I was expecting to see when I clicked on the picture.

Damn Man, I like when you guys go the extra effort for input, but you didn't have to go that far! Exactly what I'm doing, but haven't picked out a muffler yet. Headers to collector and 2 1/2" all the way back.

When I first got my 55 they had duals heading out the sides was retarded the pip went on the outside of frame right were my sliders were going I paid 400 for my exhaust

OK, where would you put the flex pipe in the line. Right after the two to one collector or down the line?

I tried to flip my Pig on its side to get a better picture but no luck.
This is the flex pipe location.

If you go with single exhaust you should have it come out the middle with a curly-q for piggy tail.

I would say that this is also a major concern of mine as well.

A few things I’ve done to address, coated the floor inside and out with a ceramic heat barrier coating, I will coat the entire exhaust system with a coating similar to Jet Hot to help hold some of the heat in the pipe, I will wrap most all of the system with lava exhaust wrap and if I still have issues then I will build heat shields for the affected areas. I struggled with the decision the keep my system up high in the frame rails out of harm’s way versus down lower to keep the hot pipes away from the floor boards and at the end of the day I decided it would be easier and cheaper the control the heat than replace busted parts every time I did something stupid.

Any experience with the Lava wrap? Wondering how it holds up to elements.

Ron,

Like I hinted to above I'm coating my entire system with NIC Glacier Black thermal barrier before I wrap it with the Lava wrap, I will coat the wrap with the same coating to help it resist moisture and abrasion. I have a buddy that did something similar on his Harley pipes and they are holding up remarkably well, it kind of forms a hard shell like a cast.
