Thanks! It works well to keep the dogs safe and they love the sliding windows.

I was thinking of building something like that for our rear door window on our 4R so we could leave it open while away from the rig without worrying about people reaching in. :D

I used nutSerts (rivNuts) and just bolted the pieces in place. The aluminum is easy to work with and with good attachments, quite strong. I don't think you could tear the window bars off without a pretty good battle.

The main barricade stops just below the seat back so I can still fold the seat down and sleep.

We do a lot of day trips and fishing from our base camp, so this set up give us a secure ice chest with food and drinks and 4 gallons of water. That is an old picture, now I have made a set of valves to drain the ice chest and a gravity flow hose from the water jug.

Gurney - Where did you get the Mantec sand tracks?

On reading the review on the track pad I agree. It does not work well as a ramp etc, however it works great in the snow. They definitely do crack and splinter though.

Hi SmoothLC,

I got the sand ladders here:
Sand Ladders

Before making a decision, I'd read this: A great review of the ladders available:
Sand Ladder Review

Good Luck!

Good read and one we read as well when looking. We also bought our ladders from the same place as you. We have the military steel version as well, but those will be mounted to the expo trailer since they weigh in at about #25 each.

Nice ride!

I have to remember I can double them up when I expect a lot from them, but they are pretty stout.

Thank you! I was planning the same thing (double them up) if needed. I also talked with that company that we bought them from and they suggested if using them to help get up a steep boulder (i.e. ramp) to stack small rocks then put the ramp on that for extra support. The idea is to be creative I suppose. :D

Thanks Gurney - I remember reading that article on Expo but had forgotten that it reviewed the sand tracks.

Thanks for pointing to the site to purchase them.
