Plug and play. Simple knowledge with hanging bulbs

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

Super super simple! The map lights were the toughest to get to, I couldn't get the plastic piece to come all the way out but just spun it to get to.

Pull that cover down and unscrew that little screw hiding in there. The whole assembly lowers.

^that cover being the one around the garage door opener buttons :)

Got my package today, will install tonight; thanks Pfran42. Still no pics of the elusive red map light that some of you have installed?

I'm not going to post any. Brings back memories of CIC (Combat Information Center) on the USS Kalamazoo during Desert Storm....Oh the horrors....the horrors...

Got my set yesterday (thanks pfran42) will install this weekend and report back :) !!

What picture do you need? Just try 'em! If you don't like it it's a 30 second change out to the white!

I got mine installed today. Went very easily. The hardest part was outing the door light covers back on but I found a way to make it very easy after struggling with the first one.

Insert screwdriver to depress the spring tab.

Remove entire assembly.

Reinstall cover.

I tried the red LED but it was far to dim to be useful for most situations. If you were parked and your eyes were adjusted it would be fine. But not every day use.

Overall I'm very impressed. The light output is awesome and will be great for camping an trying to find things the kids drop at night. I like that the dimming feature is retained when you shut a door just hope it does not affect lifespan. Another thing that I don't like but it's not a big deal is that the Color Temps of the Map Lights and Dome Lights are different. I also don't like that the dome lights are the larger variety. The small bulbs would have been great in the larger panels.

OEM Light vs LED. There is not a huge difference in output.

Looks sweet from a distance.

Pics of OEM map light vs LED and DOA bulbs. 2 of my larger panels had 3 bulbs out. This is the panel that I would have preferred the smaller bulbs in.

That said, pfran's work on this has been awesome. Thank you much! I'm glad that I was able to participate in the buy. Now lets get that EXTERIOR Package going!!!:bounce: I would love to have all Signals, Brakes, Rears, DRLs and Super Bright Backup Lamps!

Jon, I have red LED panels! Pfran put out a great product and has been referring people to me for those assorted colors! In return I am referring people to him for the kits! If you want a red panel or red bulb let me know as I have 5SMD LED bulbs ready to ship!

Red bulbs:

If you want red dome lights in the 24SMD 5050 LED variety I got those ready to ship also!...the 24SMD 5050 LED panel has larger diodes than the 48SMD that I had and the 24SMD is brighter!

My hundy has the red map BULBS with red dome PANELS

That's crazy!!! I think I would be over it after a week or so though but to each his own. Amber might be a good color alternative for those that don't like the hospital room look of the white ones. :D

I have that too!;) As well as warm white, cool white and pure white for the OCD crowd who want perfect matching:) It's not as affordable as Pfran's kits because I use panels in the map lights and dome lights. Only place where I use bulb style LEDs is the doors

And to those who want to flame: I am not keeping the red LED in my truck ahha

I think there might have been a bad batch on some of the 48s. PM me a reminder on this.

Also, when you do install the 48's.

DO NOT PUSH ON THEM HARD.

For future installers

Mine were like this out of the box. Note the LED is hanging, this was the initial test. Thanks for the heads up though!
