Yes, more info on yours as well. Another thread or here if the OP doesn't mind...

Fine with me. We are here for each other :)

Those look great! Are there any American companies that make a similar product? I don't trust anything from communist China.

All American companies buy from China and charge you 10x Mark up on it.
The best way to help China eschew socialism is by engaging in trade with them

You go to school with Bill Clinton? haha
So I'm guessing if you were around in the mid 20th century you would say " The best way to help Germany eschew fascism is by engaging in trade with them..."? (even though some companies kind of did just that)

China has only been communist for last 70 years out of 5000+ years of written history so capitalism and trade is in the blood. Also it hasn't been a true communist system since the late 70s.

ALSO communism is just an ideal to front authoritarianism, it's just a cover for a few to gain control over general population like organized religion. Mao had 25 Mercedes 600s, the most expensive car in 60-70s, how's that for communism? No different than that bishop who has a 40 million dollar house built by donation.

A little history does your body good! :)

Politics aside, are the LED bulbs better then HID in terms of producing heat? (less is better).

I've been trying to find the temp ratings for the kit I got. For me (while yes less is better) living in Utah, if they don't produce enough heat then they won't melt the snow/ice off like the halogens do.

Looking at the LED type on cree's site. The ratings are givin at 85 degrees so I would say they are somewhere around there lol.

Oh and when I become the dictator of the United land of all hail me (formally known as the United States) then I will probably have 25 Bugatti Veyrons. So who am I to judge?!

LEDs are more efficient and produces less heat per lumen of light emitted. But they are making them a lot brighter than HID now so heat might be similar. What's different is HID is chemical reaction inside a gas tube which likes and tolerates heat but led is a chip which is very small and doesn't like extreme heat. So that's why it s really important to keep them cool with heat sinks or they die quickly. Overall less heat but more concentrated on the smaller chip.

Now are you asking if LED will run too hot and melt your housing? Not likely as it probably will burn out well before it can get hot enough to melt your housing.

Either way it's hard to beat the amount of heat created by your standard 60 watt incandescent bulbs.

No, I have a graduate degree in economics though and believe in the free market. You must not

This stuff needs to be in chat guys. Please take it there.

So I got the LED dual intensity red bulbs. They are a little brighter than the regular bulbs and can be seen way better in the day. Brake lights are definitely brighter. They look a little orange in the pic but they are red for sure.

So how would these LED's compare to the HIR's?
I was set on some HIR's but then I saw this...
And both the HIR and LED work in the Depo headlights right?

I would get LED before HIR, HIR is super hot which is not good for the old chrome plating inside the headlight. Mine peeled a long time ago on one side so I had to replace both headlight with after market.

I would never get HIR, they are just incandescent on steroid, too hot for most headlight units.

I thought a lot of people on here ran HIR's without problems?

I've ran HIR's in low beams for 6+ months no prob. Way brighter than stock. I'd still like to try LED's though.

Extra heat will eventually age the light housing or the reflective mirror coating. That's just my opinion though. A lot of ran HIR for a while but I won't, that's all.

Some HIR are just blue tinted 60 watt regular bulbs and some are 100w bulbs, those I definitely won't use.

Got them on and running. Took about five minutes.... Because I dropped my beer and had to go up stairs to get a new one haha.

Sylvania silver star ultra low:

LED low:

Mind you that is just plugging them up and going. No time to aim or any of that.

I actually had a silver star ultra high beam go out so I didn't get any open area shots of it. Here are the LED highs though:
