Just to be sure, these were absolutely "plug-n-play"? Just purchase them and switch out bulbs?

Yes complete plug and play! When I get my bulbs I will take pictures of them right out of the box.......
I beleive nothing is different but let me verify that one more picture to come!
I ordered a set for my headlights and foglights (both 9006). They did not have 9005, but I didn't want to deal with the potential flickering when they are on for the DRL's so I went with Sylvania ZXE's. I have them in my wifes LX and they're great. They should arrive tomorrow, so I will post pics and installation pics.
That' my green LC next to my brothers in the pic, and the bulbs are 100% plug & play.. It's as simple as swapping out & installing an OEM bulb. The DRL's continue to function, but I just run my low beams on all the time anyway.
My brother ( 85 SA TOY ) also brought up a good point on these bulbs.. They have a large heat sink instead of those goofy fans some use. The size of the sinks are way overkill IMO... They hardly even got warm after running the lights on a drive from LA county to Laughlin (4 hours ). I've been running these bulbs for a couple months now, and they've been problem free so far.
Can you post a picture of it in DRL mode?

I'm highly considering dropping these into the Depo housings when they arrive. Low beams to start most likely.

They're the original headlight housings, and I couldn't tell you about the throw cause the whole road is awash in light, lol
