Do your A/C controls work properly? Did you do something special for them to work? I have not been able to put mine to work properly.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thank You!

Yes the air conditioning works. People are having issues with the 1998-2002 non-nav air conditioning, so I can only speak for the 2006 (my year). What is your year?

The 2001-2002 nav with a/c top buttons are different from the 2003-2007. I’m not sure if the 2003 nav is slightly different (connections) or if it’s the same as 2004-2007 nav.

1. Transfer the black OEM HVAC part with the three plugs to the Tesla 12.1. I have a picture (2nd screenshot) of it above.

2. Connections: You would have to take a picture of your connections for us to troubleshoot it. Sorry my picture is a mess, but I’ll take more detailed pictures at a later time.

Hello @mvo,

Mine is a 2006 with Navigation and electronic A/C.

Attached are my connections where the OEM HAVC has been transfered to the tesla style screen (Picture 1).

Still A/C controls don’t work (Picture 2).

Have been trying to find out what might be done because some people talk about a “Premium harness which I already got but still does not work” and now other are talking maybe there needs to be done what is shown in Picture 3 and Picture 4 but don’t know if messing up with the OEM HAVC Box.

If you have any recommendations they will be gratefully recieved.

Those red wires/connection from the board is something that I didn’t have to do. Your harness from the decoder looks different from mine. You would need to take more detailed picture your harness (from decoder) for me to confirm.

That was when I hit pause.

Px6 is what we need

This is for the PX6. I spoke with them and confirmed. The tech specs do not match the offering, but was assured this is the PX6. They acknowledged it.

My order is already on the way. Stoked.

My hands were bloodied and bruised for a at least a week after installation. There is not a single millimeter of extra space in the dash behind the radio.

I'm sort of convinced that the wires & cables stuffed back there are the reason my side vents don't line up perfectly, but I just can't bear the thought of taking it all out and trying to find a better fit now that I've fully healed. My health insurance would probably cancel me.

Yes - the fit is tight. If you get creative with the cables, they do fit back in pretty well. I tucked some cables in between the module box and the screen and some other squishing to get it back in. Still tight though and takes a bit of patience to massage it back into place.

It looks like you have the air conditioning working because I see blue highlight on the bottom with 16.0C. Try just pushing the + or - on the screen since it resets to <blank> when it's been a while since you started/rebooted.

There’s a television camera ecu under the passenger seat which already provides 6v to the camera. Here’s a pic of the connector & pins. You have to cut the end of an rca cable, or get one with a bare end. I used an rca cable with a built in reverse trigger wire. Tap the rca into CV+ (pin 40) & CV- (pin39). Tap the reverse trigger wire to reverse (pin 27). Run the rca to the unit, connect the reverse trigger wire there as well... FACTORY CAMERA!

How are the front and side view cameras displayed on the unit? Would be nice to have cameras front and on passenger side for offroading but it sounds like the frontview camera can only be a DVR/USB type cam (meaning mounted on the windshield inside the car)? Is that right? I'd love to put a camera low on the front bumper.

That's a giant bummer!!
Thank you for the feedback.

Unfortunately, that's correct -- the front camera is USB/DVR only. Learned that the hard way after running all the wiring and mounting an RCA camera under my rear-view mirror. The side-view camera is a standard RCA connection and can be viewed using the DVR app that's included with the unit; you can choose between right or left side, but not both. I'm pretty sure there's also a setting that activates the side-view camera along with the rear-view when you put the truck in reverse.

Thought others might want to see what I did this week. Replaced the display and all ac controls with a Tesla Tablet style Android radio from Phoenix automotive radio. I like it a lot. I plug in my iPhone and use CarPlay to control music, make calls, navigate, etc. Controls all ventilation, integrated with backup camera and steering wheel controls. Cost about $1300 total, but is pretty sweet having 2019 electronics capabilities in an 06 Cruiser. View attachment 2082589
What options did you add to make it $1300?

Wow - I paid up for the quick shipping [2 weeks v. a month?] and just got DHL tracking ... it'll be here tomorrow. Just, wow.

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar, thank you! That would have taken me 2 lifetimes to figure out.

Has anyone purchased the 2002 Lexus LX470 version yet? When I look at the Rhino website and go to that year/make/model, the picture of the dash/stock system doesn't match what I have in my rig. Mine is a touch screen with nav and climate control integrated into the screen. There are also control buttons ABOVE the screen and a tape deck below. It is the Mark Levinson version.

When I look at the 2003 model on the Rhino site, their picture looks closer to what I have but the buttons seem to be BELOW the screen.

Any thoughts?

If this is what it would take to do this mod, doesn’t seem too bad. Unless I am missing something and it’s actually super difficult. Please interject.

Call them. Go thru your checklist of questions

This conversion looks really promising. I'm interested to see what the backup camera solution looks like. It's going to be nice to have all this information in one place.
i have a uk model and it did plug and play so i wonder if our wiring is different. i did however fit an aftermarket camera and now also have carplay and google home fitted(im a big kid).
