take the new amp and speakers and wire job for 1100 and call it a day.

Well - I had a bad experience. I ordered a PX6 through Navihua using Alibaba. They sent me a PX3 instead. They fessed up to their mistake, and said if I can ship the PX3 back, they'll send me a PX6 - but, they won't cover the return shipping. So I opened a claim with Alibaba and they're trying to refund me the difference between the PX3 and the PX6 - which obviously doesn't help me since I already have a PX3.

Soo.... if anyone wants a brand new PX3 unit, PM me and we'll work something out.

I just installed this in my GX 470 and dual is working.
Does the GX 470 have complete driver dual zone climate control with factory equipment or was it like the LX/LC that has a separate rear AC control behind the 2nd row?

I was hoping the dual zone in the LX/LC would be able to be merged into the touchscreen controls but you can still only turn the rear climate control on/off like the factory setup.

I have a 2003 Land Cruiser. The green harness fixed the CC issue for me. It seems newer models were plug and play.
I would try to get the green harness from the vendor that you bought the radio from.

Hello @Wetwillie

I got the green harness and installed it as the attached pictures show but still the A/C controls don’t work and have the showed conectors with no place to be connected to.

What do you think happened? Did I connect the new harness badly? Did they sent me the wrong harness? I have something bad in the system configuration?

Any help will be appreciated!

Thank You!

Anyone installed a new backup camera yet and ran the new rca and power cables? Running into issues with routing the cable through the upper tailgate. Thinking of installing in the lower tailgate as cable routes work a little easier back into the cab.

I tested out the power cables signals with a few different cameras to the new radios I’m looking for the optimum route for the new wiring.

Also thinking about getting a swing out tire carrier and I’m not sure if I should just wait until I get that done before mounting the camera. Suggestions?

Late response here, but I did this. Mounting the camera on the inside of the car. On the top center of the rear window - there's a piece of moulding that runs across the whole back. Drilled right in the middle and ran wires down and to the head unit. It isn't messed up by snow/dirt and have full viewing access to whats outside - even above my bike rack.

Recommend for easy installation and weather resistance. Also, no holes in the body itself.

Sounds interesting. Can you post some pictures?

Thanks for putting this thread together with so much great info. I keep thinking of getting one of these for my 04 LX and the more I read the more I like what I am seeing.
I do have a few questions though.

Does this utilize the factory GPS for a signal? Or do you have to have a wifi hot spot to get maps / any GPS?

For those of you with the TPMS options how are well is it working and what sensor type are you using?

Also for apple car paly / andriod auto, I see that it has two options for wired or wireless. Can the wireless option not have a wired connection as a backup? Or for charging the device while being hooked up? I do not know much about the car play as I have never had it so any information will be great on how it works.

Does the 6 disc cd changer still work or there a way to convert it to a DVD player?

Thanks for any info and keep up all the great work you guys are doing in helping troubleshoot these.

GPS: they come with their own receiver that you mount somewhere. I have mine mounted at the top edge of the windshield.

Wifi: you can hotspot off your phone or get an LTE modem. I just use a hotspot.

CarPlay/Android Auto: CarPlay has both wired and wireless connectivity, AA is wired only. You'll need to use the USB OTG port (it's labeled) to use wired CarPlay. I haven't tested wireless myself.

I would also budget for an aftermarket amp and speakers. You may get a ground buzz after changing the radio and replacing the factory amp is usually the best way to fix it.

Don't have mine yet but have done a bunch of research. Ordered mine through the group buy above but haven't got it yet.

My understanding is you can use both wired and wireless carplay simultaneously so multiple phones can connect. I'm going wired first, as car play in my other vehicles is underwhelming anyway and you'll have built-in google maps, google earth, waze, etc. If you purchase from the above group buy, the carplay dongle can be added as a free addition.

Other people have reported that the CD changer doesn't work even tho there is a control setting for it. I wonder if you can add a usb CD player?

For the group buy peeps and new info for me with the PX6 units:

Update again!!!! Exciting news!!! The LC version is fast boot (2 sec) and the oem backup camera works with it. Also wired car play comes with so you do t need to get that.

The LX version is the same except the boot time is 5 seconds and the camera doesn’t work.

So dont choose the apple

Car play cus it’s included.

Also both have TpMS built in, but the Lx will only give you a low pressure warning, if you want the actual psi readings you still need the sensors.
