Since mine's a 94 (They had fueling issues) it's getting TWO extra injectors. An in cab fuel controller (That is adjustable on the fly), but sadly no intercooler. However, since that was brought up I will call them tomorrow and ask about it.

They came to the conclusion of two after numerous dyno runs. The head was also worked and the injectors were all flow matched and gone through.

I have posted this before, but I am very close to someone who works for the company that makes the superchargers for TRD. They will be available again soon. Don't bother emailing them telling them that you are interested. They know already. They are retooling the original as the mold is gone or something like that. Should be ready pretty soon. I will call him and see what the progress is. I can get one real cheap, but I don't want to run premium gas so I am passing. That price is not too bad when you look at other super chargers on the market for domestic trucks.

Can't wait to see the dyno numbers, do you have a copy by chance? Would be great to compare them to the Dyno numbers from Slee's turbo test.

As long as you are passing, feel free to pass on the savings :)

just to have something bolt-in n' go for a big HP boost... the price is not bad for a sc, although it is a lot of money...

i might just do this instead of regear. I don't care about premium as I don't put many miles on it anyway-the gas cost would literally be only a few dollars more per year.

hmmmmmm!

I think turbo is much better but it is also quite a bit more expensive.

I emailed them about a month ago. The reply basically said they were on indefinite backorder until further notice.

Turbo time now...

the biggest hurdle of a turbo is the manifold. Once you have that there is quite a few choices of what turbo you use and the price can be quite a bit less than the SC. This is for one that is a DIY,

But the manifold hurdle is a big one.

Funny, because I have a friend who works for Toyota, and his buddies in TRD say that management is only interested in current vehicles and have no interest in supporting a 10 year old SUV.

And if you could get one real cheap you'd be an idiot not to. I so miss mine.

~$3,000 (SC) versus ~$7,000 (turbo) :rolleyes::hhmm:

pends where one aquires the item.

the R&D is the question for me in those types of situations.:hhmm:

I was referring to getting to the point of a finished product like if you bought one from Christo to compare apples to apples. For instance, you could get a belt driven generic centrifugal SC and build an intake manifold for it. You'd probably have less than $3k into it (parts wise), but if you wanted to buy a setup like that you'd pay through the nose for it.;)

MMmmmmmmm suuuupppeeerrrr chargeeeeeerrrr

vroom vroom :D

Glad I have mine.

The above post is 100% accurate.

TRD sold the rights to the supercharger to LC Engineering. Alpine was making them for TRD and Alpine has gone back to South Africa (I think thats where).

So here is something disgusting that happened to me TODAY!!!!!

I am going over to Northridge Toyota here near LA. I came in to get your basic tune up kit. I only go the basics because I needed it for a last minute trip and I would prefer to save the money and get from CDan.

Well, I get to talking to woman at the parts counter. She is also a big Landcruiser fan albeit more of the FJ40 flavor. Well we get to talking about IH8MUD and she says she loves the site because its what kept her LC going.

So I am looking at all the TRD and ARB off-road stuff they have in there. And I tell her, " Its too bad you can't get the superchargers for the 80 series anymore, I would snap one up now".

Her reply? "OH HEY! Are you looking for one? We have one here. Its been sitting here for years and its an obsolete part no."

"GET THE *^&% OUT!!!!! Gimme Gimme Gimme!!!"

Well she went back, started looking. And she's gone for a solid 15 minutes. And she's panicking because she can't find. So she talks the service manager to see if they installed one. Negative. She called the parts guy who is off. He doesn't know. She calls the Parts Manager.

With the Parts Manager on speaker phone.....

"OH yeah that thing, its was an obsolete number so I sold it finally about a month ago for $200 to get it off the shelf"

Folks, the last time I cried was my dog was ran over when I was 17. At 35, I felt as though my dog died all over again.
