Trying to search the thread that talks about cruiser seat substitutes for the 60s series. If somone could post it or the brief discussion on putting in GMC duramax seats in a 60 would appriciate it.

Here is a good thread:

I had procar seat in my last FJ62 - it's the same seat Iron pig off road uses.

Sorry for the hijack--

but FWIW -- MMW68, that Nalgene bottle you have in the cup holder (if you still have it) -- Get RID OF IT! Anything with the #7 recycling symbol (polycarbonate) puts out the highest amt of BPA's (mimics estrogen) So unless you like man boobs, or worse, get a different bottle...

Tellin' ya just 'cuz I like you. :D

I've got the IPOR seats and love em. Might be a touch tight through the bottom for someone of generous proportions, but the side bolstering really makes for a planted feel in the seat.

Really?? Hum... I lost that bottle years ago, but Iam going to go check some of the others in my kitchen. THANKS - Mark

How do you know that's not Lexan?

They don't use Lexan for food source containers (there is food grade Lexan, but very very $$$) ... Also, I have the same bottle sitting in my garage, now.

Tofu, don't you have a kid still bottle feeding ? Don't -- DO NOT -- use ANYTHING but glass bottles !! (if your kid is still bottle feeding)

Google BPA and you'll see why... Our Friggin' FDA under W has been as criminal and corrupt as anything those bastards in the White House have touched.

How are the procar seats holding up for anyone that have them? They sell an adapter frame but think I remember reading you don't need it.

There is some truth to the BPA scare but depending on different factors like how long the water is in the bottle and how old it is depend on how much might leech into your water. It is scary how much plastic we use these days and where it is ending up in the environment.

I actually bought some SIG water bottles a few months ago and am very happy with them.

Anybody have experience with upholstery kits from SOR ?

As for the bottles, I use: kleankanteen.com

It doesn't get any better than Stainless Steel ... Lifetime bottle for $20. And certainly no worries about anything leaching into your drink.

Seriously? You want to blame the demise of the dinosaur on them as well? Does this have anything to do with 60 series Landcruisers? I'd appreciate it if you'd save the political banter for chat.

My kids= 100% titty-fed. Never once from a bottle. And we use the Stainless ones too. Seen the "Things That [liberal] White People Like" list? Kleen Kanteens make the top 100.

And listen, I'm as ultra-granola as you'll ever meet, vegan, eco up the wazoo, and the concern is over-hyped. See: http://walking.about.com/od/hydration/f/lexansafety.htm

The procar / iron pig seats are one of the best purchases i have made for my truck, and I have made a lot. Everyone that sees them ask about them. They are very comfortable. I can not see how anyone could spend any money towards recovering when these are an option. They bolt straight to your factory slides. Ten min at the most to change out a seat.

OK what size are you guys that are in love with the Procar seats? I'm 6'2" 230#, will I fit?

I totally agree

X2 - Love'em.

I'd suggest you find someone with them to try first. They're perfect for me, but I'm 5'10" 175lbs. The side bolstering in the seat bottom might be an issue, it's quite prominent, so if you have a wider back end, you might feel a bit wedged in.

those grey seats look really nice.

I have to take in consideration my wife. She is a little big in the rear end so the seat cannot be narrow. I think the gmc might be the ticket :) Even the idea of stripping off old foam and cover and doing over again might be a good idea.
