The heat and A/C system is controlled by the switching unit in the dash, along with a the A/C amplifier behind the dash. The easiest check to make,to determine of any of the functions are working, is to move the heat control at the bottom of the...

Build quality is incompatible. I regularly drive my 77 Bronco with unknown miles, 86 Bronco with 187,000 miles on and off road. While wonderful nostalgic and truly fun trucks - they both feel and sound like a bucket of bolts traveling in loose...

What he said I went through this recently. Mine was a combo of valve cover gasket and oil pump seal. And I have gone from a drippy bloody mess to a clean garage and driveway - not a spot And had the pleasure, ”while I was there”, of changing...

Better strap a super extra heavy day pad to that one. Maybe even one with wings. What is your maintenance record for the truck? How many miles on the engine? How many miles on the head gasket or any major engine maintenance? What does the...

b56tc replied to the thread Aftermarket Fuel Pump or OEM?.
Similar issue on my 60 after switching to fuel injection was due to intake tube placement within the tank along with lack of baffles. Only happened on half tank or less on a turn to the right at a low enough speed that the fuel actually shifts...

If you want to prove to yourself @inkpot and @leonard_nemoy are wrong (they're not, BTW), pull the fuel pump out of the tank and look at the location and baffles. This exercise will cost you far less in real money than any deal on a replacement...

Well, I'm guessing, the diagnostic hive mind here on 'Mud would have either told him its a fuseable link ( I hear they're unavailable) or a head gasket.

this is killing me. OME 2", 315s, apparently stock gears as I'm seeing from other rpm/speed reports; 10 mpg at 2300 70mph indicated. New plugs rotors wires distributor intake tube. But old engine. Not using any oil however...

That would be the question Best could be fuel efficiency; or power; or engine longevity. There does however seem to be a certain harmonic per engine design that balances all 3. On my Cummins it’s 1700 rpm. That’s 18.5 mpg. If I go to 1900 I’m...

Although at 2300rpm I am not regularly seeing 205 miles since fill up with a quarter tank left. Like, ever.

I am about 8 mo into this new to me truck. I do not know whether the gears are stock or no. I was just mesmerized by Coys’ gas gauge at 87 mph and 3000 rpm and guessing the all day ends in about 20 minutes - 😜

I'll be digging through the 250,000 mi transmission soon and it will be an opportunity to consider any gearing change "while I'm in there" I am running 35's (which are actually 34.3"OD) and while a bit under powered off the line or trying to pass...

solid should have been more specific, do I just service now or does the click mean a flat spot/rebuild w new or a dry area Got to rebuild at some point. But a good project for when there's salt on the road and and it's parked anyway Don't...
