There are lots of things on the internet. Many of them are completely made up. I won't give something creedence until and unless I see something published in a respected, peer-reviewed journal.

His article made a bunch of assertions of danger but without providing any evidence or any references to journal articles. Just saying "oohhh, EMF dangerous" isn't proof of anything.
Hey, to each his own. I was just throwing out there for those of us to think about it. Also for those of us who are ICE only. Just more ammo for us to not fall into the EV trap. BTW, lots of truth uncovered by non"respected, peer-reviewed journals". Something to think about.

Again, people make all sorts of claims. But he is providing no proof. No data showing a link between exposure to EVs and health problems. Nothing at all.

I'm not saying there isn't such a risk. What I'm saying is that nothing you have provided has shown any data that supports his assertions. Show me some data. Show me a respected researcher with credentials who has investigated this and published their findings.

There are many people that say things on the internet that are not true. Some of them are misguided and just think they know more than they actually do. Some of them are simply mentally disturbed. Some of them say these things in order to make money. Generating controversy and outrage on social media is what brings in clicks and clicks bring in money.

There is a pretty big difference on up-front costs vs. ongoing O&M costs. Periodic fuel costs may be more than offset by taking the delta in purchase orice/payments and sticking it in an investment-earning account.
That's true. It depends if we're comparing a new 100 vs a new lc250 - the LC250 is far more cost effective than a new LC100 would be if you could buy it today.

So, that's it right there. I'm just saying do your own research. If something is brought to light, whether you've seen it before or it's new to you, don't dismiss it, look into it or don't and live in oblivion. We all make our own choices. I'm not telling anyone on here not to buy a hybrid, just look at all the facts and come to your own conclusion. And don't base it on one article.

Let's not forget electromagnetic radiation is all around us every day. Naturally occurring and man-made, power lines, wifi, bluetooth, cellhphones, am/fm radio included.

You can't escape it.

Yes, you are partially correct. But think about this, in an EV, you are sitting in essentially what is a reverse faraday cage. All that elecro rad bouncing around inside the vehicle and into you.

What you can escape is your wifi, your BT, your cell. That's your choice whether you want to turn it all to the "OFF" position or not.

Not all radiation is the same. It's sort of like saying acetone fumes are bad so be careful of being in a closed space with any clear liquid. If the liquid is water or vodka - not really something to be concerned about in most cases. Could you drown in it? sure - if there was too much water. Water kills more people than any other liquid. But it's not dangerous in the same way as being in a closed space with an open bucket of acetone. There's some context that requires more information about what the nature of the radiation is. Is it water or acetone?

ELF radiation is like water in this case. There's no evidence that it is dangerous at low levels (there's very tenuous evidence that it's dangerous even at really high levels) and the levels you'd experience as a passenger in a hybrid vehicle are far below what you'll see in many common working environments. Welders and other industrial tools are far higher. EV chargers would be higher. If you worked at a medical imaging facility - MRIs are WAY higher.

If we were concerned about EM radiation we'd all step away from our devices and go wheeling :)

Oh good grief. I should just start drinking now
Wait it's friday... You don't start binge drinking in the AM? I was wrong about you :)

JK We are in a weird spot. We have a lot new information on the 250 but we don't have a lot of the important bits we are waiting for...

Agreed. No need to look for things to worry about. But if 10 years they released findings that this stuff was linked to a X fold increase in X Cancer then none of us are good enough actors to pull off a convincing shocked! face.

Can we please get back to agreeing to disagree it’s a land cruiser?!?

So far we have learned it's not a real Land Cruiser if:
It doesn't have all leaf springs
It doesn't have dual sun visors
It doesn't have a V8
Now add:
It fries your chakras with EMF.

Remember when cars used to be delivered to dealer lots and you could go test drive them to see if you liked them in person? That was nice.
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
