Just a quick little project tonight inspired by @Beanzermin

A tip for those wanting to paint their lights like this, just put the tape on and then use a razor to shape the curvatures.

Finally arrived on the slow boat from China.

I think it looks pretty good but I am considering doing a wiper delete because I never use my rear wiper.

Got my Metal Tech OPOR sliders prepped, painted, and installed! Used several different wire wheels, used some compressed air then tac cloth to clean them, then wiped them down with acetone right before painting. Used a Rustoleum primer and a Krylon satin black that I've used on several other things on the truck.

I've been working on a couple of little things lately. Got a new 2nd row out of a 2005 junkyard cruiser, the better condition is a plus, but the main purpose here was to add the carseat LATCH system (at least that's what I tell my wife). They were pretty dirty, but after some effort, I'm happy with how they turned out.

Dirty junkyard seats...

The Lexol worked okay. I washed them about 3x before going forward with the conditioner. I then conditioned 3x before letting them see use. The leather is still not as soft as I'd like. I am looking into other conditioning products.

I'm definitely happy with the way these turned out. They look a lot better, it wasn't too hard of a project, and now the carseat(s) are much more solid in their attachment. I'd say its a success all the way around.

Those look very nice. I have been very impressed by the Chemical Guys leather cleaning and conditioning products if it helps at all.

Thanks, I'll have to give them a try. Here in AZ, the heat and sun causes the leather to get really dried out.

here's a quick way to fix the saggy net on the seats vs the disassembly and full rebuild. cutting not necessary really. Pic from mud.

Nice. I got tired of my saggy nets and decided that I'll do a full seat swap....should be fun!

Wrapped the steering wheel yesterday. It wasn't too bad of a job, but the leather cover I bought on eBay is not the right shape so it doesn't fit perfect. Looks and feels much better than the old one.

Picked up some sweet dealer installed cloth seat covers! They are such a great fit. @Somebodyelse5 has a set that had me envious, so I'm glad I was able to also find a set.

They were a little worn so I swapped the driver and passenger bottoms and also flipped the armrests and now they look near perfect! With my fresh leather and newer rear seat I didn't really want them to get ruined again...

Excuse the dirty floor mats...

Pretty all of a sudden, my transfer case lever started giving me some issues. Worked fine at the end of December then I try it in the middle of Feb (in a situation that I needed to use it) and I could not shift it into Low range. I ended up hitting the hill with a little speed and it was fine, but still - concerning.

With advising from some trusty LC guys @Somebodyelse5 and @JunkCrzr89 I was able to get things sorted and 100% solved.

I could still shift it and the transfer case engaged just fine, but it took see major muscle. See video of me grunting to find extra strength...

Now how to do it...

Schematic, compliments of @JunkCrzr89 . Remove the center console and get these 4 bolts out. 2 access from above and the 2 on the left access from underneath. Pull the clip and save the 2 washers and you now have a loose t-case lever.

You can easily access these 2 bolts and you can see the pin but its more easily accessed from underneath.

Once I got this thing on the bench, I couldn't get it to budge in the slightest...This was definitely the issue.

Removing this linkage was necessary to get my arm up there to reach the clip and to get the lever down/up.

Remove the rubber boot on the end and get some snap ring pliers to get the ring and washers off.

Soak with your choice of penetrant. I let it soak in ATF over night.

I ended up needing to heat up the aluminum and then carefully tapped the steel rod out with a hammer.

This photo is after I cleaned and sanded the rod and the contacting surface of the aluminum. They now slide around without any issues, I added some grease to keep them that way for a long time.
