Before I stopped renewing my pesticide license I stocked up on Bifenthrin, which is used widely by commercial applicators.
Depending on manufacture, most are now labeled for residential indoor/outdoor (restaurants, food storage) use and now available online or you local DIY pest control shop. Can't express enough to Read The Label.
Most we find now inside are dead or dying.

I found this guy in the garage hiding under a plastic diff crate yesterday. Usually the Big ones stay in the yard... Those are 2" screws for reference, he was about 3.5" laid out. I've found a few yard lobsters that were 6-7"

I gave him to the chickens. They love scorpions, probably the reason we don't see many small ones. The scorpions that live long enough to get big are probably smarter than the chickens...

Last year, wife-unit was picking up an Amazon delivery box off the front porch and lying underneath was a desert hairy scorpion staring back at her like, "uhhh,... I was using that for shade, lady."

Found our first this weekend... a small bark spider in our bedroom. I was cleaning around the gun safe and very nearly stepped on him. I'm actually lucky I spotted him on our carpet. Took him outside and squished him. My wife and I are now conducting regular UV light inspections.

Man...

Curious how you compare here to being in the Middle East as far as pest? I would also assume the safe was something that the contents were kept state side while out the country? Or were those allowed over there?

I've picked up the Brakleen and blacklight hunting... works a trick. After three in our house in 5 days my wife and I are patrolling outside each night.

Missed these questions...

I only saw one scorpion in 10 years while in the UAE... and that was when we went camping unusually late in the year and it was warmer. I know they have them, but I think they are more likely to be around the more inland-mountainous areas, not the deep sand desert. Ants were our problem. Ugh!

The contents of the safe were indeed state side while I was overseas. My dad was very happy to keep them maintained and even made some improvements to my AR15. =) They are technically allowed over there, but I'd have to leave them with the police at a gun range. I didn't trust that anything would ever make it back out of their custody. We did however buy and make use of an air rifle while there. Those are legal and that's how I taught my boys how to properly/safely handle a firearm.

Tangent over... back to scorpions... I'm now taking over my own pest control after some research. First run of Cy-Kick goes down in the yard tomorrow. We'll see how this goes.
