Hi all,

My name is Chris and I just moved back to the NC area and figured I'd introduce myself. I grew up in Chapel Hill but was away for a couple of years and picked up a 2003 LX470 which I have loved so far. Bought it out of Altanta in Sept '16. She just crossed 180k so I'm going to do the timing belt before the end of the year once I find a free weekend.

BUILD THREAD

Hoping to get involved in some events and meet some of the local members!

Welcome back.

Welcome back. The only real differences youll find since you left...traffic has gotten worse, people have gotten older and fatter, and their kids are now old enough to drive.

Welcome back! Come to the next Triangle monthly meeting!

Yes. The ONSC calendar is a good place to start. The Triangle monthly meetings are the first wednesday of each month, almost always at Rally Point in Cary. Keep an eye out for a "Triangle Monthly Meeting" thread next week.

Are you back in Chapel Hill or did you pick another place to land?

I am back in Chapel Hill for the next few months while I am house shopping. Will most likely end up somewhere in CH, Durham, West Raleigh.

Welcome. I see you have a NY tag on your truck, where in NY were you living? I am originally from the Buffalo area.

Great meeting you Wednesday.

Good luck on the timing belt this weekend. If you get need anything I know a few guys that love a spontaneous HAMOM.
What is this "HAMOM" you speak of?

My step daughter lives in Buffalo with her "pre-fiance" They are talking about moving down here as they have had enough of winter and a stagnant economy.

HAMOM, Help A Membe Out Meeting. A group from the club gets together and works on one or more member's trucks. Lots of beer and eating too.

"pre-fiance" - I like it.....

What can i tell you, they are 25. They are doing well on their own so if they want to be pre engaged, works for me :)
