Just purchased today a 2004 Lexus lx470 with 120k miles. There is a slight vibration when the LX is on gear with the brakes on if I shift it into neutral, the vibration stops. I need. the "WEIGHT No4 cross member damper" mine did not come or is not there anymore. Let me know if you have one. TIA.

I have mine laying around I could ship to you if you'd like to just cover the cost. You'll have to source bolts as I'm not sure where mine are.

I have a 2004 that started doing the same thing around 120k (i bought it with 115, now at 133). I've asked my mechanic a couple times to take care of it, but every time I get a tune-up we wind up driving around for a few blocks and the noise stops for a couple thousand miles but not quite for the whole time until the next oil change. He only ever sees the problem "fixed." It drives me nuts - had been convinced it was some issue with the drive shaft or transfer case because it goes away as you said when the car is in neutral or park. FWIW I still have my running boards and that weight on the undercarriage.

I see folks on here saying the vibration is the motor cover or the motor mounts-- doesn't really make sense to me because it goes away in neutral. In my case the skid plate is barely hanging on, and I assumed that must be contributing if the other things are possible contributors.

hope that's helpful

I was having same bad vibration when stopped, driving me nuts.
I ordered motor mounts hoping it would solve issue. Decided to order a Magnaflow muffler and get that installed first, couple days ago. Vibration completely went away. Was gonna tackle mounts next week anyway. Stock muffler has a weight attached to it, thought I was gonna have to possibly add another one to exhaust. So far so good.

I think the weight dampens a harmonic noise (a very subtle droning) that resonates through the frame.

Are you feeling a vibe or hearing a vibration buzz? Manytimes it is exhaust system related- cat shields, heat shields, a rattle inside the muffler, even a small rock in your gas tank skid plate.

Crawl under the truck, remove the engine skids, visually inspect and probe around with a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer test various spots mentioned above.

I feel a very subtle vibration that really bothers my ears when I am stopped in gear, what you described on your opening sentence describes what I feel. My lx does not have the damper.

Disregard my earlier post -Truck's back in the shop with check engine, VSC off and VSC trac lights on. Needs a new right catalytic coverter.

Toyota attached this to stop what they called exhaust boom.

Your vibration is likely what is commonly called the "D" vibration! Search in mud for this.
Number one solution is a tune-up that includes disconnecting battery for 20 minutes.

OEM cats are best, and don't fail often. I get second opinion, before going doing that road.
