Back to the BB TBI adapter. The BB TBI body is larger, so with the SB body on it, some of the vacuum passages are exposed.

We punched/chopped out a separator plate that matches the SB body gasket, then used a BB gasket under it.

Now all of the passages are covered/sealed, should work great without leaks. The lower side matches the manifold perfectly.

The biggest oil leak that was left was the intake, so snatched it off (heavy bitch!) and resealed it. The motor is way clean,,, on the inside!

Testing, mocking up where everything will fit. The o2 and knock sensors are on the passenger side, will need power from the starter, so it looks like the wire runs will be short, everything grouped together, hopefully clean setup.

It needs a power steering cooler, the fluid has been in the "not happy" mode a couple of times. The problem with a '40, especially modified, is room. Found this nice cooler, is plate type and very thin, fits and should work very well.

Pulled the seats, gas tank, etc. Found the typical "treasure trove" of shotgun shell, straw, rocks, bottle caps, sticks, nuts and bolts, etc!

Working the new gas tank, it's sold as a "bolt in kit", so we knew we were in for trouble! As usual, nothing fits, the seats will have to be raised, new brackets made, the tank covers the holes in the floor for the feed/return lines, wiring, etc and the fill tube is nowhere close.

Got a bunch done, didn't take pix of most of it!

Must be a "kit", had to shorten them to fit.

The "instructions" indicated that the feed line has a weld bead next to it (this tank is smooth in that area), showed an almost all black, fuzzy pic, that is useless. Did some research, all that we could find used the top one. Got the borescope in there, wiggled past the baffles, and both lines go to the same place, so, we used the top one for feed.

The fuel system install from the underside. We used a fuel pump and filter mounts from a Ford, nice setup, rubber mounted, runs very quiet.

The throttle pedal/cable was a kludge deal. We welded part of a Chevy to the Toyota pedal using a high tech jig. Replaced the cable with one from a '90 Chevy pickup.

Had to move/space all of the seat mounts. On the driver seat, had to make a new outboard mount, cut. splice and move the inboard mount forward, it moved up ~1". Thanks to JJ and AzTony for the help in mounting them.

The inside could still use some attention? A few of the circuits that are outside will be moving inside, fuel and main relays, ESC, etc.
